摘要： A pulley holder for rotatably supporting a pulley around which a belt is wound, in which the pulley holder includes a shaft having a shaft body for supporting the pulley and a projection at least one end of the shaft body in its axial direction, and a holder body having a bearing for supporting the shaft body, and a fitting part for fitting the projection. Since the projection is biased from an axis of the shaft body, once the projection is fit into the fitting part, the shaft body would not rotate around the axis. Accordingly, a friction wear of the bearing of the holder body is prevented and thus a shift in conveying a carriage is prevented.

摘要： Automatic composition apparatus and method are provided which are capable of modifying a rhythm pattern to provide a wide variety of rhythm patterns only through simple setting, and a storage medium that accomplishes this function is provided. Characteristics of a rhythm pattern of a piece of music to be composed are established. Characteristic data that match the established characteristics are retrieved from a rhythm pattern database rhythm pattern database comprising a plurality of rhythm patterns and characteristic data indicating characteristics of each of the rhythm patterns. One of the rhythm patterns is selected, that corresponds to the retrieved characteristic data. Accordingly, different rhythm patterns having the same characteristics can be easily obtained. Further, composition conditions to be applied to a whole piece of music to be composed are established, and the established composition conditions are allocated to each of sectional elements that constitute the piece of music, for example, a passage, a phrase, or a measure, and the composition conditions for the whole piece of music, in other words, distributed among the respective passages, phrases or measures. Therefore, a rhythm pattern having different characteristics may be obtained by changing only the characteristics of the whole piece of music, thus assuring an improved efficiency with which the user operates the apparatus.

摘要： A sheet feeding device for feeding a sheet stacked on a sheet cassette to an image forming portion of an image recording apparatus. The sheet feeding device includes a sheet supplying roller unit and a sheet feed roller positioned downstream thereof. The sheet supplying roller unit includes an intermediate small diameter portion and integral large diameter portions positioned to interpose the small diameter portion therebetween. Each large diameter portion has a contacting area in contact with the sheet, whereas the intermediate small diameter portion is spaced away from the sheet. A sheet edge detection arm is swingably provided and contactable with the sheet fed by the contacting area. The sheet edge detection arm is movable into a space defined between the small diameter portion and a confronting separation pad. If sheet is fed by the sheet supplying roller unit, the sheet edge detection arm is urged by the sheet and a posture of the arm is changed. The arm is abuttable to a lever member which is pivotally movable in accordance with the movement of the sheet edge detection arm. A photosensor is provided at a moving locus of the lever member. When the lever member moves across the photosensor, sheet edge detection signal is generated.

摘要： A sheet feed mechanism has an array of suction cups into and out of contact with an uppermost one of stacked sheets in a sheet cassette. After the suction cups are held against the uppermost sheet, a vacuum is developed in the suction cups to enable the suction cups to attract the uppermost sheet. Then, the suction cups are lifted with the uppermost sheet attracted thereto, and a leading end of the attracted and lifted uppermost sheet is nipped, and the sheet is delivered into a sheet feed path. When the suction cups are lifted, they are angularly moved about an axis to cause the leading end of the attracted uppermost sheet to be obliquely separated from other stacked sheets.

Preferably the pupil or trainee effects a melody or chord performance on the keyboard with the accompaniment of an automatic chord performance and/or an automatic rhythm performance, or an automatic melody performance and/or an automatic rhythm performance.

摘要： An automatic rhythm performing apparatus comprises a rhythm pattern generator for generating stressed beat pattern pulses representative of stressed beats of a rhythm to be generated and relaxed beat pattern pulses representative of relaxed beats of the rhythm, a tone generator, a rhythm gate coupled to the tone generator and a mute gate coupled to the rhythm gate. The rhythm gate is operative to impart a decayed envelope to a tone signal from the tone generator in reponse to each of the stressed beat pattern pulses and the mute gate is operative to suppress a portion of a decayed output signal from the rhythm gate in response to each of the relaxed beat pattern pulses. The automatic rhythm performing apparatus can be used for an automatic chord performance of a keyboard type electronic musical instrument.

摘要： For each section forming a music piece, music template information is supplied which includes at least information indicative of a pitch variation tendency in the section. A plurality of already-composed music pieces are preferably analyzed to store a plurality of pieces of such music template information so that any users can select from the stored pieces of music template information. For a music piece to be composed, the user enters information indicative of a tendency relating to the number of notes, such as syllable information of desired words or scat words, in each section of the music piece. On the basis of one of the pieces of music template information supplied and the user-entered information indicative of the number-of-notes tendency (syllable information), the length and pitch of notes in each section can be determined, which permits automatic generation of music piece data. If the music template information is used with no modification, an automatically composed music piece will considerably resemble its original music piece. The user can freely modify the music template information to be used, so that a music piece different from its corresponding original music piece can be created with the user's intention reflected thereon. The music template information can be easily modified by any users having poor knowledge of composition, and the present composing technique can be easily used by everyone.
