    摘要: A plasma display panel driving method and a plasma display device estimate the highest temperature and the lowest temperature the panel can have, according to the temperature detected by the thermal sensor, and appropriately drives the panel, to improve the image display quality. Provided are at least three driving modes having different sub-field structures: a low-temperature driving mode, an ordinary-temperature driving mode, and a high-temperature driving mode. To drive the panel, estimates of the highest temperature and the lowest temperature the panel can have are made from the temperature detected by the thermal sensor, the temperature condition of the panel is determined from the estimated highest temperature or lowest temperature, and the driving mode is switched appropriately for the panel temperature condition.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method of driving a plasma display panel that displays an image with high brightness, high contrast, and high display quality by stabilizing selective initializing operation. To realize it, a plurality of subfields each having a setup period, an address period, and a sustain period are provided in one field period. Retention time for retaining voltages to be applied to a scan electrode and a sustain electrode is provided between time when voltage for weakening the final sustain discharge in the sustain period is applied to the sustain electrode and time when a ramp waveform voltage which decreases is applied to the scan electrode in the setup period in the following subfield. The retention time is controlled based on average brightness of image signals or ambient temperature.

    摘要: A power converter circuit includes a diode group, a relay, a DC section and an inverter. The diode group includes a plurality of diodes arranged to rectify an output voltage of an alternating-current power supply. The relay is provided at a point located closer to the alternating-current power supply than the diode group. The DC section is where an output voltage of the diode group is applied. The inverter is arranged to output a three-phase alternating-electric current to a three-phase load. The DC section has a maximum pulse voltage twice as great as a minimum pulse voltage of the DC section. The DC section includes an energy-absorbing circuit having an electrolytic capacitor. The DC section further has a pathway arranged to apply the output voltage of the alternating-current power supply from the alternating-current power supply to the electrolytic capacitor via a rectifying circuit, not via the relay.

    摘要: A voltage detection section and current detection section detect a voltage and current supplied to a motor, and the detected voltage and current are supplied to a position detection section. An angular speed output from the position detection section is supplied to a differentiator to output an angular acceleration. A fundamental wave component extraction section extracts a fundamental wave component of the angular acceleration, and the extracted fundamental wave component is supplied to an amplitude adjustment section. The output of the amplitude adjustment section is subtracted from the average current command by a subtraction section. This subtraction result, current detection value, and the rotor position from the position detection section are supplied to a current control section to carry out the current control operation so as to obtain a current command. The current command is supplied to an inverter to control the voltage and current so as to suppress the speed changing due to the load torque changing. Thus, stability is improved, and a decrease in cost is realized.

A sloping waveform voltage is generated by switching a minimum voltage in the sloping waveform voltage between a first voltage and a second voltage that has a lower voltage value than that of the first voltage. A number of subfields, in which an initialization is carried out by the sloping waveform voltage having the minimum voltage as the second voltage, is increased when a temperature of a plasma display panel is determined to be low as compared with when the temperature is determined to be not low.
