摘要： The present invention relates to an alternatively monoaxial and polyaxial pedicle or other similar surgical screw that can be used in a polyaxial manner and then locked or otherwise secured at a desired angle or orientation, i.e. used in a monoaxial manner, prior to engaging a rod or other similar stabilization member with the pedicle or other similar surgical screw. In other words, the present invention provides a pedicle or other similar surgical screw that can be selectively used in either a monoaxial or polyaxial configuration, as is desirable in a particular application or at a particular point of a given surgical procedure.

Optionally, the triple lead thread includes leads that originate at different points along the axial shaft. Optionally, the triple lead thread includes leads that terminate at different points along the axial shaft. Optionally, the axial shaft includes a first tapering portion proximate a tip of the axial shaft. Optionally, the axial shaft includes a second tapering portion proximate the tip of the axial shaft. Preferably, the second tapering portion tapers more steeply than the first tapering portion. Optionally, the axial shaft includes a reduced diameter portion proximate the head portion. Optionally, the axial shaft includes one or more tapering portions proximate the head portion.

摘要： An exercise device is provided that comprises a support arm having an upper support arm member defining an upper support arm axis and a lower support arm member defining a lower support arm axis. The exercise device further comprises a support structure to which the support arm is pivotably attached by a longitudinal pivot mechanism and a lateral pivot mechanism. The longitudinal pivot mechanism is adapted so that the support arm may be selectively rotated about a longitudinal pivot in a pitch plane that includes the upper support arm axis. The longitudinal pivot mechanism is also adapted so that the support arm may be selectively locked at a selected pitch rotational position. The lateral pivot mechanism is adapted so that the support arm may be selectively rotated about a lateral pivot point in a vertical plane that is orthogonal to the pitch plane. The lateral pivot mechanism is also adapted so that the support arm may be selectively locked at a selected lateral rotational position. The exercise device also comprises a yoke pivotably attached to the upper support arm at a yoke attachment point so that the yoke may be rotated about the upper support arm axis. The yoke is adapted for being grasped by a user for rotating the yoke about the upper support arm axis.

摘要： In an illustrative embodiment of the invention, an exercise device comprises a support structure comprising a support member and a support arm having an upper support arm portion and a lower support arm portion. The support arm is mounted to the support member by a pivot assembly comprising a longitudinal pivot control mechanism and a lateral pivot control mechanism. The longitudinal pivot control mechanism is configured to allow the support arm to be selectively positioned at a first angular orientation in a longitudinal plane and the lateral pivot control mechanism is configured to allow the support arm to be selectively positioned at a second angular orientation in a lateral plane orthogonal to the longitudinal plane. The exercise device further comprises a yoke pivotably attached to the upper support arm by a yoke attachment member for rotation about a yoke rotation axis. The yoke is configured for engagement by a user in an exercise orientation and for selective rotation about the yoke rotation axis by the user.
