摘要： A data electrode driving circuit, a scanning electrode driving circuit, a liquid crystal display unit and a driving method thereof for attaining simultaneous scanning and driving of a plurality of rows in a passive matrix type liquid crystal display unit. A scanning electrode driving circuit includes a scanning function generating circuit for generating scanning functions for m rows. A scanning voltage is selected by the scanning function and a driving voltage is supplied to the scanning electrode. On the other hand, a data electrode driving circuit includes shift registers for m rows. The shift registers produce display data for m rows taken therein at the same time. The display data for m rows and the scanning function produced by the scanning electrode driving circuits are subjected to comparison operation. One level of m+1 level voltages is selected in accordance with the operation result and is supplied to the data electrode. The liquid crystal panel performs display in accordance with the voltage for the scanning electrode and the voltage for the data electrode.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes N (N is a positive integer except zero) data electrodes, M (M is a positive integer except zero) scan electrodes, a liquid crystal display panel having pixels located at crosspoints between said data electrodes and said scan electrodes, and a data electrode driving circuit. The data electrode circuit has a memory unit from or into which the information information is read or written, a write control circuit for controlling a write of the display information into a memory area of the memory unit, a read control circuit for simultaneously reading the display information corresponding to N data electrodes from the memory area at a different period of the writing period, and an output circuit for converting the display information read from the memory unit into the corresponding voltage and feeding the display voltage to the data electrode.

摘要： A scanning voltage driving device suitable for a liquid crystal panel with plural output terminals, the scanning voltage driving device producing a 2-level selection voltage to plural scanning electrode groups which drive the liquid crystal panel according to a value of an orthogonal function data, the 2-level selection voltage having a positive polarity and a negative polarity with respect to a center point being a non-selection voltage, includes orthogonal function producing means for producing the orthogonal function data from input synchronous display signal groups, scanning line selecting means for creating a scanning line selection signal from the synchronous display signal groups to indicate an output terminal for the selection voltage, and voltage selecting means for selectively outputting a voltage amount the 2 levels of the selection voltages and the non-selection voltage every output terminal according to the value of the scanning line selection signal and the value of the orthogonal function data, the scanning line selecting means dividing one frame period into plural virtual block periods and then repeatedly creating the scanning line selection signal which sequentially selects all the scanning electrodes to be selected for the block period every plural scanning electrodes.

摘要： A liquid crystal controller for controlling display of a liquid crystal display device of passive matrix type includes gray scale processing being performed on input data before being written in a frame memory for frame frequency conversion and gray scale processing being performed after the frequency conversion and reading of the data from the frame memory so that an amount of information of display data written in the frame memory can be reduced. Further, since the gray scale display pattern is switched by the same switching frequency as the converted frame frequency, pattern movement and flicker of the gray scale display portions can be reduced.

摘要： A liquid crystal display control apparatus includes a display on/off data generation circuit for generating plural display on/off data per pixel corresponding to M (M>N, M and N being integers) frame periods of a video output signal in N frame periods of a video input signal on a unit pixel basis in response to gray-scale data of pixel units included in the video input signal, a write control circuit for writing display on/off data per pixel corresponding to M frames of the video output signal generated by the display on/off data generation circuit into a frame memory during N frame periods of the video input signal, and a read control circuit for sequentially reading out, from the frame memory, display on/off data corresponding to M frames of the video output signal written in the frame memory in synchronism with one display scan period of the video output signal, thereby the data written in the frame memory is not gray-scale data but display on/off data of one bit, therefore, a data bus width at a time of accessing the frame memory can be reduced.

摘要： A liquid crystal display has a liquid crystal panel having a plurality of data lines and a plurality of scanning lines arranged in a matrix form with pixels being formed at intersections of the data and scanning lines, a scanning circuit for successively applying a voltage to the scanning lines, and a liquid crystal driver for receiving display data from an external device to apply a voltage corresponding to the display data to the data lines. The scanning circuit includes a synchronizing signal generating circuit for generating a frame display synchronizing signal indicative of a frame period for display of image on the liquid crystal panel and a line display synchronizing signal indicative of a line period for image display on the liquid crystal panel. The liquid crystal driver includes a display memory accessed through a memory interface for reading and writing of data, the display memory storing therein display data corresponding to the pixels.

摘要： An information processing system includes a bus, a display data generating circuit coupled to the bus, and a display apparatus coupled to the bus. The display apparatus includes a display panel capable of displaying a grayscale image in accordance with display data in a form of a plurality of bits for each of a plurality of pixels of a display panel generated by the display data generating circuit, and a signal driver which supplies driving voltages corresponding to the display data to at least a part of the plurality of data lines to display a grayscale image on the display panel. The signal driver includes a display memory which stores the display data, and is embodied in an integrated circuit. The display data generating circuit transfers the display data to the display memory via the bus.
