    Abstract: A cable backplane system includes a plurality of cable connectors interconnected by cables, each cable connector having a header holding signal contacts at a mating end of the header configured for mating with a card connector. A cable tray having side walls surrounds a cavity defining a raceway for the cables. The cable tray has a front edge and holds header frames between the side walls. The header frames hold headers of corresponding cable connectors. An organizer plate is coupled to the cable tray at the front edge. The organizer plate has a plurality of connector channels receiving mating ends of corresponding headers. The connector channels hold the headers in position relative to one another.

    Abstract: A connector brick for a cable communication system includes a header frame including end walls and side walls defining a header opening. The header frame is configured for mating with at least one circuit card. A plurality of cable connectors are received in the header opening. Each cable connector has cables extending therefrom and each cable connector has a header holding signal contacts at a mating end of the header and configured for mating with a corresponding card connector of the corresponding circuit card. Cable connector mounts are coupled to the end walls and extend into the header opening. The cable connector mounts engage corresponding cable connectors to secure the cable connectors in the header opening.

    Abstract: Backplane communication system including a backplane and a rack assembly having an array of electrical connectors with respective mating ends. The backplane communication system also includes a plurality of guide pins that each have a cross-sectional diameter taken transverse to an axis of the guide pin. The backplane interfaces with the rack assembly such that the guide pins extend through guide holes of the backplane and the electrical connectors are aligned with mating windows. Each of the guide pins has a leading segment that extends through the corresponding guide hole and a trailing segment that is disposed within the corresponding guide hole. The cross-sectional diameter along the trailing segment is greater than the cross-sectional diameter along the leading segment.
