Abstract: A mechanical system for retrieving solid particulate material from a defined area which includes carriage guide rail means adjacent the defined area, carriage means adapted to traverse the carriage guide rail means, and pneumatic sweeper means mounted on the carriage means and adapted to sweep up the particulate material in a sweep path that traverses the width of the defined area.
