    摘要: A mechanically-controlled vacuum throttle for a continuous dense phase pneumatic conveying system and related method is provided. The system includes a pneumatic conveyance line, a particulate material insertion assembly, a positive displacement blower, a transport fluid intake assembly, and a vacuum throttling assembly. The vacuum throttling assembly is configured to control the flow of air mass density into the blower and through the conveyance line. A portion of the vacuum throttling assembly is tied in to the conveyance line pressure downstream of the blower and adjusts the air mass density flow depending on the downstream pressure. Preferably, the vacuum throttling assembly includes an obstruction element and an opening collar, where the obstruction element is moveable relative to the opening collar and the air mass density flow is adjusted depending on the amount of movement of the obstruction element relative to the opening collar.

A transfer assembly (16) on the port (14) includes an inlet assembly (17) having a positive-close non-return valve (21) and a delivery outlet assembly (20). A venturi assembly (22) applies suction to the ventilation port (15) and has an exhaust vent (24) including a closure assembly (25) selectively operable to cycle between a suction phase and a pressurized phase. A two way T-valve (40) selectively allows venturi exhaust air to pass selectively into either a diffuser/muffler (35) or a delivery line (42) downstream of an outlet non-return valve.

    摘要: A tubular or cylindrical unit that creates a vortex effect with externally supplied pressurized fluid injected angularly within a transport structure is provided. Such a unit is utilized to either accelerate the vacuum and/or air conveyance of liquids, solid aggregates, and gases, reduce the energy required for such materials transport processes, or both. Such a result is achieved through the introduction of pressurized fluid via a plurality of injectors situated evenly around the circumference of the subject tube, pipe, and/or cylinder, and angled uniformly for an even pressure injection of fluid within the conveyance component thereof. In effect, through such injection of pressurized fluid, the overall transport system may be operated at significantly reduced cost while increasing the efficiency of overall vacuum and air conveyance systems simultaneously. The method of utilization of such a device is also encompassed within this invention.

    摘要: A system for handling sample vials includes a vault for receiving a series of storage cartridges. Inside the cartridges are one or more discs providing vial recesses. In multidisc cartridges, through passages are provided to place and retrieve vials into and from the subjacent discs. A pick up device is moved until it aligns with a selected vial and the vial is pneumatically removed. A device is provided to reverse orientation of a vial moving through the system. A venturi operated system is provided including symmetrical bleed off ports to propel vials through the system without inducing excessive spinning of the vials. A piping system from a central bank to a multiplicity of analytical instruments includes a minimum number of through conduits and a diverter at each instrument location for sending the vial either to the instrument or downstream toward another diverter and instrument.

    摘要: An arrangement for transferring bulk goods from ships into silos by means of suction and pressure conveyance. The arrangement includes a suction conveying line with suction nozzle to be placed in the ship and leading to a lock-type receiving container. A pressure-conveying line leads from the container to the silo. A screw-type pump is provided at the bottom of the container for continuously feeding the material to the pressure conveying line. The material travels through the container by gravity. The receiving container includes container segments which are arranged so as to be telescopically extendable. All components of the arrangement are mounted on a road-travelling vehicle. During operation, the segments of the container are extended. During travel, the container segments are slid into each other.
