摘要: A coupling assembly includes: a tubular compression collar having a tubular body made of a resiliently flexible polymeric material and having an interior surface and an opposing exterior surface; an end of a tube disposed within a throughway of the compression collar; and a tube fitting disposed within the passageway of the tube. The tube fitting includes: a tubular stem; a flange radially outwardly projecting from an exterior surface of the stem; and an annular barb encircling and radially outwardly projecting from the exterior surface of the stem, the annular barb including a frustoconical outside face that extends along and outwardly slopes away from the stem as the outside face extends toward the flange. The compression collar radially inwardly compresses the tube against the annular barb of the tube fitting so that a liquid tight seal is formed between the tube and the tube fitting.

The joining device comprises at least one first electrical insulation member which is positioned in contact with the first face of the heating film, and at least one second electrical insulation member which is positioned in contact with the second face of the heating film, the two electrical insulation members being configured to allow the transfer of heat and to prevent the flow of electric current between the heating film and each component to be welded.

摘要: In a first aspect of the invention there is provided a wind turbine blade comprising a shell and a shear web connected between a windward inner surface of the shell and a leeward inner surface of the shell. The shear web comprises an elongate web panel and a load-bearing flange extending transversely from a first side of the web panel to connect the shear web to the windward or leeward inner surface of the shell. The blade further comprises at least one non-structural flange extending transversely from a second side of the web panel. The non-structural flange has a substantially planar adhesive-receiving portion arranged in opposed relation to the windward or leeward inner surface of the shell. The load-bearing flange and the non-structural flange are formed of different materials.

摘要: Systems and methods for assembling elongate composite structures are disclosed. The systems include a first rigid elongate cure tool defining a first elongate support surface for supporting a first elongate charge of composite material (FEC), a second rigid elongate cure tool defining a second elongate support surface for supporting a second elongate charge of composite material (SEC), and a flexible elongate caul plate. The systems further include a vacuum compaction film, a translation structure, and a vacuum source. Methods according to the present disclosure include positioning a vacuum compaction film, positioning a flexible elongate caul plate, and positioning an FEC. The methods further include positioning an SEC, contacting a region of the FEC with a region of the SEC, sealing the vacuum compaction film, evacuating the enclosed volume to generate an elongate composite assembly, and heating the elongate composite assembly to define the elongate composite structure.

摘要: A method of joining an interior wall and a composite channel together is disclosed. The method includes wrapping one or more first composite plies around a first end portion of a first mandrel and wrapping one or more second composite plies around a second end portion of a second mandrel. The method includes positioning the one or more first composite plies located on the first end portion of the first mandrel against the one or more second composite plies located on the second end portion of the second mandrel to create the interior wall, and inserting the first mandrel and the second mandrel into a passageway of a composite channel. The interior wall created by the one or more first composite plies and the one or more second composite plies creates a barrier to block a flow of fluid within the passageway of the composite channel.

摘要: A method of sealing a peelable lid (2) to a flange (4) provided within a metal can body (1) which involves inserting an induction coil (6) into the can body to primarily heat the sealing surface (5) of the flange, whilst keeping the exterior wall of the can relatively cool to avoid tin reflow and decoration degradation of the exterior wall. The induction coil is subsequently removed from the can body and a peelable lid applied to the flange, whereby residual heat in the flange aids the sealing of the lid to the flange, e.g. by allowing activation of a bonding material.
