摘要： A system and a method for producing biomass from a mixed community of algal species. The method comprises the steps of culturing the mixed community of at least two algal species as biofilms on transparent surfaces having structural features and an optical filter, providing a continuous supply of a culture medium comprising at least 0.5 mol/L aqueous (bi)carbonate and having a pH greater than 9. The method disclosed herein facilitates online monitoring of mixed community productivity by the quantification of oxygen production.
