Abstract: An image generating device is disclosed having a first light source configured to generate a first upstream light beam, a second light source configured to generate a second upstream light beam, and an array of variable transmittance elements configured to selectively receive and transmit the first upstream light beam and to selectively receive and transmit the second upstream light beam so as to form, respectively, a first downstream light beam forming a first image and a second downstream light beam forming a second image. A head-up display including an image generating device is also disclosed.
