Abstract: In some examples, high speed bidirectional OTDR-based testing may include transmitting data from a first end of a device under test (DUT) towards an optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) that is operatively connected to a second opposite end of the DUT. Further data that is transmitted by the OTDR may be received from the second opposite end of the DUT towards the first end of the DUT. Based on an amplitude of the further data, a direction of receiving of the further data may be adjusted towards a first receiver or towards a second receiver.

Abstract: In some examples, QR code based test data embedding and transmission may include obtaining, by a test data analyzer that is executed by at least one hardware processor, test data based on operation of a test device to measure a parameter associated with an optical fiber. Based on an analysis of the test data, a report that includes the test data may be generated. A quick response (QR) code generator that is executed by the at least one hardware processor may compress the report that includes the test data to generate a compressed report. The QR code generator may generate, based on an analysis of the compressed report, a QR code that includes the compressed report. A display generator that is executed by the at least one hardware processor may generate a display of the QR code that includes the compressed report.

Abstract: In some examples, an optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) device may include a laser source to emit a laser beam into a device under test (DUT), and a connection port to connect the OTDR device to a first end of the DUT, where the OTDR device may be designated a first OTDR device. A sensor display generator may determine a length of the DUT, receive, from a second OTDR device connectable to a second opposite end of the DUT, and over the DUT, OTDR information acquired by the second OTDR device in a direction from the second OTDR device towards the first OTDR device, and ascertain, based on acquisition by the first OTDR device, further OTDR information in a direction from the first OTDR device towards the second OTDR device. The sensor display generator may generate a bi-directional combined schematic display that includes relevant optical events with respect to the DUT.
