Abstract: Various examples are disclosed for hybrid alert and action solution in IoT (IoT) networks. An edge device receives device layer data and generates an edge layer prediction by processing the device layer data using a quantized decision model. A confidence check is performed by comparing a confidence probability for the edge layer prediction to a threshold probability. An action to perform for the edge layer prediction is identified based on a result of the confidence check.

Abstract: Disclosed are various examples of device and management service integration using a device connector service that acts as a proxy. The device connector service can receive a device communication that is relayed by a device connector client executed on an edge device. The device communication includes device connector authentication data, and a device identifier for a device. The device communication is modified into a modified device communication that includes management service authentication data, and a management unique device identifier (UDID) that is different from the device identifier. The device connector service transmits the modified device communication to a management service.

Abstract: Disclosed are various examples of device and management service integration using a device connector service that acts as a proxy. The device connector service can receive a device identifier for a device, and an enterprise identifier, and generate a management unique device identifier (UDID) using these values. The management UDID can be used in an enrollment request that enrolls the device with the management service. Device data including a device configuration can be received from the management service, and the device configuration can be relayed to a device connector client to apply the device configuration to the device.

Abstract: An approach is disclosed for registering and authenticating Internet of things (IoT) devices. In one embodiment, an installation device receives, from an IoT device, an identifier (ID) and a hash of a public key, where the IoT device itself generates the ID, the public key, and a private key. To register the IoT device, a blockchain wallet in the installation devices generates a blockchain transaction which adds the received ID and hash of the public key as a name and value pair in a name/value storage (NVS). The hash of the public key may then be retrieved from the NVS and used in authentication of the IoT device to other IoT devices or servers, among other things.

A multi-edge alert definition specifies a plurality of IoT devices that communicate through edge devices. The multi-edge alert definition is decomposed decompose into individual edge alert sub-definitions. Each of the individual edge alert sub-definitions is evaluated using data from individual ones of the edge devices. An alert is triggered based on one of the individual edge alert sub-definitions being met.

Abstract: Various examples are disclosed for edge alert coordination for mobile device alerts. An edge device can connect to a network through an edge device that monitors device data and metrics for the device. The edge device transmits a join message that includes a device identifier of the device. The edge device receives inherited device alert data. The device alert data is inherited from a previous edge device that previously monitored the device. The edge device triggers an alert using the inherited device alert data and currently monitored device data.

Abstract: Various examples are disclosed for hybrid alert and action solution in IoT (IoT) networks. A cloud layer decision model that generates cloud layer predictions is identified using device layer data. A quantized decision model is generated as a quantized version of the cloud layer decision model. A logical group that includes an edge device that collects a portion of the device layer data is identified. The quantized decision model is transmitted to the logical group.
