Abstract:
The current document discloses methods and systems for extending an internal network within a first cloud-computing facility to a second cloud-computing facility and deploying a virtual machine or virtual application previously running on a first cloud-computing facility within the context of the extended internal network in the second cloud-computing facility. The currently disclosed methods and systems which provide internal-network extension and redeployment of virtual machines and virtual applications, referred to as “stretch deploy,” allow a virtual machine or virtual application formerly executing on a first cloud-computing facility to resume execution on a second cloud-computing facility, using the computational and storage facilities of the second cloud-computing facility but depending on network support from the first cloud-computing facility, without changing IP and local network addresses and the network connectivity, based on those addresses, between the virtual machines and virtual applications and other local and remote computational entities with which the virtual machines and virtual applications communicate.

A method of migrating a virtualized computing instance between source and destination virtualized computing systems includes executing a first migration workflow in the source virtualized computing system between a source host computer and a first mobility agent simulating a destination host, executing a second migration workflow in the destination virtualized computing system between a second mobility agent simulating a source host and a destination host computer, sending, as part of the first migration workflow, a configuration of the migrated virtualized computing instance to the destination virtualized computing system, translating, as part of the second migration workflow, infrastructure-dependent information in the configuration of the migrated virtualized computing instance, and transferring, during execution of the first and second migration workflows, migration data including the virtualized computing instance between the source host and the destination host over a network.

System and computer-implemented method for managing software objects in a multi-cloud computing environment uses generated sync cycles for infra managers running in at least one cloud of the multi-cloud computing environment, where at least one of the sync cycles for a particular infra manager includes initial and update state information of software objects associated with the particular infra manager. The object updates of the sync cycles are published to an entity in the multi-cloud computing environment, where the object updates are processed and persistently stored in a database for consumption by a service of the entity.
