    摘要: A valve is disposed between a fuel tank and an engine intake manifold in a small engine fuel system equipped to recapture running loss evaporative emissions. The valve includes a resilient diaphragm that blocks the flow path When vapor pressure in the fuel tank reaches a predetermined level, the diaphragm opens and allows the vacuum forces in the manifold to purge the vapors in the fuel tank by drawing the vapors into the manifold to be burned in the engine. The diaphragm isolates the fuel tank vapor dome from the vacuum pressure generated in the manifold, thereby preventing the engine from being starved of fuel. The valve may be integrated with a liquid discriminating valve to form a valve assembly.

    摘要: A compact overflow limiting vapor vent/tipping valve assembly with pressure and vacuum relief. A float operated vapor vent/tipping valve may be either attached to a cap with a vapor outlet port which is welded over an access opening in the tank or, the valve may have a valve body formed integrally as one piece with a portion of the tank wall structure. The vapor vent/tipping valve includes therein a gravity operated pressure relief valve for preventing vapor venting below a threshold pressure; and, the pressure relief valve includes a vacuum relief valve permitting reverse flow to admit make up air in the event of sub-atmospheric pressure in the fuel tank.

    摘要: A fuel tank filler tube has a seal disposed therein for sealing about a refueling nozzle upon insertion in the tube. When the tank is filled and fuel backs up in the filler tube, in the event of failure of the automatic nozzle shutoff, an annular pressure relief valve surrounding the seal opens and provides for by-pass flow around the seal to the upper end of the filler tube. The annular valve includes a rigid ring member with an annular flexible seal attached and is spring biased to the normally closed position.

    摘要: Isolation valves of the invention are advantageously mechanically actuated. Such valves and associated methods comprise a first port in fluid communication with a first component; a second port in fluid communication with a second component; a third port in fluid communication with a third component; a diaphragm disposed within the valve for closing a normally open internal pathway to occlude fluid communication between the first port and the second port in response to a pressure differential across the diaphragm; and a flow sensitive pressure device for controlling the pressure differential across the diaphragm. Fluid flows from the second component to the third component upon closing of the normally open internal pathway. In an exemplary embodiment, isolation valves and methods of the invention are adapted for use in fuel tank emission control systems.

    摘要: A float assembly for a multifunction fuel vapor vent valve with a float having a recess formed in the upper surface of the float with a slot formed in the side of the float and communicating with the recess. A raised surface portion is formed in the bottom of the recess and downwardly extending projections are formed in the slot at the recess. A flexible wafer like valve disk is inserted in the slot and deformed or curled to pass under the projections and over the raised surface and into the recess. When fully received in the recess the disk returns to its flat configuration; and, the downward projections prevent removal without distortion. Radially inwardly projections about the recess retain the disk for limited lost motion in the direction of float movement.
