摘要: An ophthalmic camera system includes an eyepiece lens disposed in or on a housing. A flexible eyecup has a proximal opening end attached to the housing and surrounding the eyepiece lens and a distal opening end shaped to press against a face around an eye. An image sensor is adapted to acquire a retinal image of the eye through the eyepiece lens when the flexible eyecup is pressed against the face. A field source generates a field. A field sensing system senses the field. One of the field source or the field sensing system is disposed in or on the flexible eyecup and the other one is rigidly mounted to the housing. A controller is coupled to the field sensing system for tracking a relative position of the eyepiece lens relative to the field source to aid aligning the eyepiece lens to the eye.

摘要: An imaging device for imaging an eye includes an eyepiece, an illumination system, an imaging system, and a controller. The illumination system includes a light source that emits illumination light along an illumination path through the eyepiece to the eye to produce a retinal diffuse reflection and a corneal specular reflection. The imaging system includes a first camera that captures a retinal image based on the retinal diffuse reflection and a first set of optical elements, a second camera that captures a corneal specular reflection image based on the corneal specular reflection and a second set of optical elements. The first camera captures at least some residual corneal specular reflection in the retinal image. The controller subtracts the residual corneal specular reflection from the retinal image based on the corneal specular reflection image.

摘要: A method of imaging an interior of an eye includes illuminating the interior of the eye with one or more beams of light from a light source, and said illuminating is configured to trigger a change to a pupil of the eye. An image sensor captures a sequence of images of light reflected by the interior of the eye during an expected timeframe when a width of the pupil is changing in response to said illuminating. A processing apparatus combines images in the sequence of images to form a composite image having a larger depth of field than a depth of field of each of the images in the sequence of images. The depth of field for each of the images corresponds to the width of the pupil when each of the images is captured.

摘要: A technique for retinal images includes configuring a dynamic illuminator to illuminate the retina with an illumination pattern. An image frame of the retina is captured while illuminated with the illumination pattern. The configuring and the capturing are iterated to sequentially reconfigure the dynamic illuminator to illuminate the retina with a plurality of different illumination patterns and to capture a plurality of image frames each illuminated with one of the different illumination patterns. The image frames are combined into a composite retinal image.

摘要: Apparatuses and methods for an interposer for integration of multiple image sensors are disclosed herein. An example apparatus includes an interposer including laterally spaced first and second windows, and first and second image sensors disposed on the interposer over the first and second windows, respectively. The interposer including conductive conduits formed in or on to provide electrically conductive paths there through with the first and second image sensors coupled to the conductive conduits. The first and second image sensors laterally spaced by a gap, and an active area of the first and second image sensors to receive incident light through the respective first and second windows, where a perspective of the first image is different than a perspective of the second image sensor based at least in part on the gap.

摘要: A retinal imaging system includes an eyepiece lens assembly, an image sensor, a dynamic fixation target viewable through the eyepiece lens assembly, and a controller coupled to the image sensor and the dynamic fixation target. The controller includes logic that causes the retinal imaging system to perform operations including: acquiring a first image of the eye, analyzing the first image to determine whether a misalignment between the eye and the eyepiece lens assembly is present; in response to determining the misalignment is present, adjusting a visual position of the dynamic fixation target to encourage the eye to rotate in a direction that compensates for the misalignment, and acquiring the retinal image of the eye after adjusting the visual position of the dynamic fixation target.
