Abstract:
An approach is provided for an anti-bullying service. A service platform monitors interaction data from one or more applications, wherein the interaction data is associated with an interaction between a source and a target. The service platform analyzes the interaction data to parse one or more indicators of a monitored conduct between the source and the target. The service platform then initiates at least one of (a) a recording of the interaction data; (b) a transmission of an alert message, the one or more indicators, the interaction data, the monitored conduct, or a combination thereof to a third party; and (c) a pushing of an anti-conduct application to a source device associated with the source, a target device associated with the target, or a combination thereof based on the monitored conduct, the one or more indicators, or a combination thereof.
Abstract:
An approach is provided for delivering messages to a user based on their activity status. An activity detection platform receives a request to deliver a message from a sending device to a receiving device. The activity detection platform also detects an activity status of a receiving user associated with the receiving device based on the request. The activity detection platform also presents at least one delivery option for the message at the sending device to a sending user based on the detection. The message is then processed based on the at least one delivery option selected by the sending user prior to a presentation of the message to the receiving user.
Abstract:
A guidance platform for providing guidance information is disclosed. The guidance platform receives a request from a user to navigate to a destination point. Based on the request, the guidance platform calculates a route to the destination point from a current location of the user. Further, the guidance platform selects guidance beacons installed along the calculated route. The guidance platform then activates the guidance beacons to initiate a presentation of the guidance information to the user.
Abstract:
An approach is provided for providing media and alert notification during a hold status of a communication session. The approach includes detecting a hold status of a communication session associated with a device. The approach also includes monitoring hold media transmitted to the device during the hold status and processing the monitored hold media to determine a variation in a characteristic of the hold media. The approach further includes determining a change in the hold status based on the variation; and presenting an alert notification on the device, another device, or a combination thereof to indicate the change in the hold status.
Abstract:
An approach is provided for global multiline roaming. A global roaming multiline platform provisions a communication device with a plurality of communication access numbers respectively associated with a plurality of communication service regions, wherein the plurality of communication access numbers are associated with a single subscriber identity module (SIM) of the communication device. The platform also selects a target communication access number from among the plurality of communication access numbers for relaying a communication session to or from the communication device based on a location of the communication device, a location of a called device, a location of a calling device, or a combination thereof with respect to the plurality of communication service regions.
Abstract:
An approach for managing the amount of data spent by one or more user devices on one or more services is described. A data usage analysis platform receives an input for specifying a data budget associated with a service, wherein the service operates on one or more devices. The data usage analysis platform also monitors data usage data associated with the service across the one or more devices. Still further, the data usage analysis platform presents a report of the data usage data with respect to the data budget.
Abstract:
An exemplary system includes a user-wearable headset computing device, a service gateway device communicatively coupled to the user-wearable headset computing device by way of a wireless network, and a plurality of server devices communicatively coupled to the service gateway device and that provide a plurality of hosted services for access by the user-wearable headset computing device by way of the service gateway device. In certain examples, the plurality of hosted services comprises at least a multi-persona phone service. In certain examples, an interactive voice response user interface to the plurality of hosted services is provided. Corresponding systems and methods are also described.
