Abstract: A base station may cause a user equipment (UE) to be connected to a network, wherein an attach request message, that is used to connect the UE to the network, includes one or more eligibility parameters for a connection release service. The base station may determine, based on the one or more eligibility parameters, that the UE is to receive the connection release service. The base station may provide, to the UE, a connection release message that is provided based on determining that the UE is to receive the connection release service. The base station may receive, from the UE, a connection release acknowledgement message that indicates that the connection release message has been received by the UE. The base station may perform one or more actions associated with changing a state of the UE based on receiving the connection release acknowledgement message.

Abstract: A device may determine that an application server requires an IPv6 address of a user equipment, and may provide, to another network device, a request for the IPv6 address of the user equipment, wherein the request includes data identifying an IP address of the network device and a port of the network device, and wherein the request is to cause the other network device to provide the request for the IPv6 address to the user equipment via a SMS request message, and receive, from the user equipment, data identifying the IPv6 address and a port of the user equipment via a SMS response message. The network device may receive, from the other network device, a response that includes the data identifying the IPv6 address and the port of the user equipment, and may store the data identifying the IPv6 address and the port of the user equipment.

Abstract: In the present disclosure, systems and methods are disclosed for improving the quality and performance of communications between a User Equipment (UE) and a base station of an access network by inducing the base station to modify a configuration parameter corresponding to the connection with the UE. In some embodiments, during and/or after a connection has been established between the UE and the base station, the UE can determine an adjusted Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) value based on a signal parameter and an adjustment value, and report the adjusted CQI value to the base station.

Abstract: An IoT device may maintain a list of cells that fail to support features of the IoT device and may scan a designated frequency band to identify strongest cells in the designated frequency band. The IoT device may decode one or more signals from one or more of the identified strongest cells that are not included in the list and may determine, based on the decoded one or more signals, a first subset of the one or more of the identified strongest cells that support features of the IoT device and a second subset of the one or more of the identified strongest cells that fail to support features of the IoT device. The IoT device may select a particular cell of the first subset of the one or more of the identified strongest cells that support features of the IoT device and may attach to the particular cell.

Abstract: An Internet of Things (IoT) device may receive a network configuration profile including one or more parameters relating to a scan interval and a mode priority of the IoT device indicating a priority for a first IoT network over a second IoT network. The IoT device may scan for an availability of the first IoT network. Based on determining that the first IoT network is unavailable, the IoT device may scan for an availability of the second IoT network. Based on determining that the second IoT network is available, the IoT device may initiate a network connection with the second IoT network. While connected to the second IoT network, the IoT device may scan for the availability of the first IoT network. Based on determining that the first IoT network is available, the IoT device may initiate a network connection with the first IoT network.
