    摘要: A method and a medium for laser imaging is herein disclosed. The medium incorporates one or more types of microstructures having a predetermined heat or radiation modifiable optical characteristic such as color, scattering, diffusion, diffraction, interference and iridescence. Associated intimately with the microstructures is a radiation antenna that acts to absorb radiation from a radiation source. The radiation antenna and source are attuned to one another to efficiently transfer energy therebetween and subsequently to the microstructures; this transfer of energy results in the modification of an optical characteristic of the microstructures to form an image on the medium. The medium has one or more layers that may include both the radiation antenna and the microstructures. Alternatively, the microstructures and radiation antenna may be included in separate layers. Coatings that incorporate one or more layers that include distinct microstructures and radiation antennae are also contemplated.

    摘要: A fluid dispensing system, including a photon source disposed on a moveable carriage and a fluid ejector array having a plurality of fluid ejection elements disposed on a substrate. Each fluid ejection element includes a fluid ejector, and a photodetector electrically coupled to the fluid ejector. Moving said photon source over at least a portion of the fluid ejector array, selectively illuminates the photodetectors, thereby selectively activating the fluid ejectors coupled to the illuminated photodetectors.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for assembling an inkjet printhead is disclosed. The apparatus comprises one or more microheater resistors and a material, which can be reflowed by use of the heat generated by the microheater, disposed proximate to the heater resistor. The microheater resistor comprises a heater resistor with an input port and an output port. A first electrical conductor, coupled to the input port of the heater resistor, receives a first voltage and a second electrical conductor, coupled to the output port of the heater resistor, receives a second voltage. A curing effect in the adhesive is produced by heat generated in the heater resistor when electrical current flows through the resistor in response to an application of a first voltage to the first electrical conductor and a second voltage to the second electrical conductor.
