    Abstract: An electric motor for an appliance includes a rotor coupled with a drive shaft. The rotor includes a plurality of rotor magnets that each define a magnet assembly including a plurality of magnet portions having different magnet pole orientations. A stator is in electromagnetic communication with the rotor. A gap is defined between the stator and the rotor. The stator comprises a stator core. A plurality of stator poles define the gap. Stator magnets are positioned within the stator core and are located to partially define the gap. Each stator magnet defines a pair of flux paths that extend around an outer perimeter of the stator magnet and onto the gap. The different magnet pole orientations of the plurality of rotor magnets operate to direct an effective magnetic flux toward the gap.

The assembly includes a yoke having a plurality of teeth in connection therewith and extending into an opening formed by the yoke. The plurality of teeth includes a first tooth and a second tooth. The first tooth is arranged adjacent to the second tooth about a rotational axis of the motor. The assembly further includes a first coil and a second coil. The assembly is configured to receive three winding phases including a first winding phase, a second winding phase, and a third winding phase. The first tooth and the second tooth form adjacent pairs of the stator teeth including two of the three winding phases, and the adjacent pairs of the stator teeth are distributed around the opening and form an opening configured to receive a rotor.

    Abstract: A stator for an appliance motor includes an annular core made up of a metallic plate that is spirally wound into a laminated structure. An overmold extends around the core and further defines an interior section and a bridge section that extends between the core and the interior section. The interior section includes stator fastening portions that are used to attach the stator to a tub. The bridge section includes a first radial structure that extends from the interior section to the core. The bridge section includes a second radial structure that extends from the interior section to the core. The core, the interior section and the first and second radial structures define a toroidal cavity within the bridge section.

    Abstract: A food processing appliance includes a container having a rotational processing assembly that includes an inner portion of a magnetic coupler. A base has a drive system for providing a rotational drive force. A drive rotor selectively transfers the rotational drive force to the magnetic coupler. The drive rotor includes a plurality of drive-magnetic members that form an outer portion of the magnetic coupler. The inner portion and outer portions of the magnetic coupler selectively and magnetically engage to form an engaged position. The engaged position is further defined by the inner portion being completely separated from the outer portion to define a gap therebetween.
