Abstract:
A steam generating system for an appliance includes a first tank positioned at a first vertical position and having an upper water outlet and a lower water outlet. A second tank is positioned at a second vertical position that is lower than the first vertical position of the first tank. A first and second interconnecting members respectively connect the upper and lower water outlets of the first tank to the second tank. Together, the first and second interconnecting members fluidically connect the first and second tanks. A valve assembly is positioned along the second interconnecting member to selectively provide access to the second tank from the first tank. Inlet and outlet pumps are respectively coupled to the first and second tanks to supply and discharge water from the steam generating system. The appliance further includes a retractable hose for connecting the steam generating system to a water source.
Abstract:
Example dryers and washer-dryers having a closed process air circuit having a drum, a condenser downstream from the drum for dehumidifying warm moist air, and a thermoelectric device having a cold side arranged in the process air circuit downstream from the drum are disclosed. Example thermoelectric devices have a warm side cooled by a fluid which is circulated in a liquid/air heat exchanger arranged in the process air circuit downstream from the condenser. Using the disclosed architectures, appliance design can be simplified without decreasing overall system performance.
Abstract:
A method for controlling an induction heating system, particularly an induction heating system of a cooktop on which a cooking utensil with a certain contents is placed for heating/cooking purposes, comprises the steps of carrying out a predetermined number “n” of electrical measurements of a first electrical parameter of the heating system on the basis of a predetermined electrical value of a second electrical parameter, “n” being ≥2, repeating the above set of measurements at a predetermined time after the first measurements, and estimating at least one thermal parameter of the heating system, particularly of the contents of the cooking utensil, on the basis of the above set of measurements.
Abstract:
A method for drying clothes in a household dryer having a drying chamber, a temperature sensor for monitoring temperature an air exhaust temperature from the chamber, and a control system for maintaining a temperature in the drying chamber close to a set point temperature by selecting the set point temperature based on the air exhaust temperature.

Abstract:
A domestic clothes dryer includes a rotating drum that defines a drying chamber, an air inlet upstream the drum, and a lifter coupled to the drum. The lifter is in communication with the air inlet for distributing air inside the drum through a plurality of openings. The air inlet includes a shaped air plenum chamber facing a lower portion of a rear perforated wall of the drum and capable of delivering air to said lifter and/or directly to the drum through the rear perforated wall.

A domestic clothes dryer comprises a rotating drum defining a drying chamber, an air inlet upstream the drum and at least a hollow lifter mounted in the drum, wherein said hollow lifter is in communication with the air inlet for distributing air inside the drum through a plurality of openings. The air inlet comprises a shaped air plenum chamber facing a lower portion of a rear perforated wall of the drum and capable of delivering air to said lifter and/or directly to the drum through said rear perforated wall.

Abstract:
Disclosed are methods for detecting the cycle termination of a household tumble dryer having sensors for measuring at least two different parameters related to the drying process. In an example method for detecting the cycle termination of a household tumble dryer having sensors for measuring at least two different parameters related to a drying process, signals from the sensors are combined according to a predetermined algorithm in order to improve the accuracy of said detection.
