摘要: The invention relates to an exterior mirror for vehicles, with a mirror-housing which, in normal operation, is retained in a fixed location on the vehicle and which, in the event of a collision, can fold away, forwards or backwards, until it assumes at least an approximately flat position against the vehicle. Folding occurs about a pair of pivot-axes. A mirror-shell, carrying a reflector, is retained in the interior of the mirror-housing. An aerodynamically efficient fairing is provided on the leading side of the mirror-housing. In order to be able to design the fairing with a shape which is particularly aerodynamically efficient, namely with a shape which is particularly long in the direction in which the vehicle travels and which resembles a wedge, while nevertheless being able, on the other hand, to permit the mirror to fold away effectively and with little overhang, at least one separate pivot-axis is provided for the fairing of the mirror-housing. This pivot-axis is inclined, in side view, at a pronounced angle relative to the pivot-axes of the mirror-housing. The fairing otherwise merely bears against the mirror-housing in a manner permitting detachment. The fairing is spring-loaded towards the mirror-housing and a vibration-damping, resilient interlayer is provided in the contact zone. The pivot-axis is positioned parallel to an edge-rim of the fairing, in the region of the projecting fitting on the vehicle. That wall of the fairing, which is located opposite, is composed of a conventional resilient material.

摘要: The invention relates to a servo-controlled adjustable outside rear view mirror for vehicles, having a stationary mirror housing and a mirror shell which carries the reflector and is able to move therein. In the mirror housing there is provided an interchangeable drive unit for the vertical and horizontal adjustment of the reflector, said drive unit being affixed to the back of the mirror housing or of the mirror shell. The invention aims at providing a broad vibrationless bearing surface for the mirror shell. Furthermore, by means of a simple control switch the mirror shall be adjustable in the same manner about a geometrically defined horizontal and vertical axis. The invention also aims at providing a wedge-shaped convergent, aerodynamic mirror housing. For this purpose, the drive unit is coupled by means of a movable plate to the rear of the mirror shell which can turn on a vertical axis, but the swivel connection has torsional strength about the horizontal axis. At the same time, the swivel connection allows for length adjustment between the plate and the mirror shell. The intermediate plate and the mirror shell are separately suspended on gimbals at independent bearing points located on the horizontal swivel axis of the mirror shell. The drive unit is pushed as far as possible to the vehicle-side housing edge, and the bearing point of the mirror shell as close as possible to the external housing edge of the mirror housing.

摘要: The invention concerns an external mirror for vehicles, having a mirror casing, in which a mirror glass is held so as to be adjustable, the mirror casing being held stationary, in the operating position, on a mirror base. In the event of a collision, the mirror casing can pivot away, either to the front or to the rear, about two approximately vertical axes located one behind the other in the direction of travel. In the case of a rigid streamlined fairing for both the mirror casing and the mirror base, there are certain problems in pivoting the fairing parts forward so as to avoid contact. To deal with this, the invention proposes a guide part which is rigidly located relative to the mirror casing and which interacts with a guide track in the mirror base. The guide track is so designed that when the mirror casing executes a pivoting motion in the forward direction, the mirror casing first lifts off from the mirror base. After a certain lifting motion, the guide track is concentric to the current position of the front hinge pin so that further pivoting takes place in a raised position of the mirror casing in which the two fairing parts can pivot past one another without contact and over a large pivoting range.

摘要: An outside mirror for motor vehicles employs an electromotive drive to position a mirror housing between a viewing position and garage position. The mirror housing is moved in a direction opposite to the direction of travel against the vehicle body to position the housing at the garage position however, a mobility of the mirror housing in the event of collisions in both directions is provided so that the mirror housing automatically returning to the viewing position in the case of movements in the direction of travel.
