    摘要: An input signal for controlling a television power supply has "power-on" and "power-off" signal states. When the input signal is in the "power-on" state, it couples a clock signal to a primary winding of a transformer causing an alternating current voltage that is conductively isolated from the input signal to be developed across a secondary winding of the transformer. When the input signal is in the "power-off" state, it decouples the clock signal from the primary winding so that no alternating current voltage is developed across the secondary winding. The signal across the secondary winding is demodulated in a demodulator that produces a control signal that is conductively isolated from the input signal. The control signal is coupled to a regulator of the power supply. A power-on state of the control signal occurs when the alternating current voltage is developed at the secondary winding terminal. A power-off state of the control signal occurs when the alternating current voltage is absent.

    摘要: An ANSI Leakage Class V control valve having consistent shut off characteristics with a reduced actuator force required to open and close the valve is provided. The trim arrangement of the control valve includes a valve cage having a multi-contoured inner surface. The multi-contoured inner surface can include a plurality of surfaces. The multi-contoured surface can include first, second, and third perimeter surfaces, and a first transition surface disposed between and coupling the first and second perimeter surfaces, and a second transition surface disposed between and coupling the second and third perimeter surfaces. The valve also includes a valve plug disposed at one end of a valve stem. The valve plug controls the fluid flow through the valve. The valve plug includes an opening through the plug for equalizing pressure across the valve plug. An annular channel is formed within a wall of the valve plug and is sized to accommodate a sealing ring. The sealing ring engages the second perimeter surface to form a fluid seal that substantially hinders fluid leakage through the valve.

A diagnostic controller is connected to a valve actuator assembly so that diaphragm pressure and valve plug movement among other inputs can be sensed while the valve actuator assembly is stroked through a test operation cycle. The sensor output signals are then used in selected graphical plots to provide information which can be analyzed to indicate the condition of the valve in such areas as spring adjustment, stroking time, valve travel, stem friction, seat load, and positioner and transducer calibration.

    摘要: A method for diagnostically dynamic testing and determining the dynamic operating condition of a pneumatically operated fluid control valve assembly wherein a dynamic output of the valve assembly is compared in response to a dynamic input to the valve assembly. A controlled variable pneumatic pressure is supplied to the input of the valve positioner forming the dynamic input to move the flow control member. The controlled varying pressure is sensed to provide a first signal representing the dynamic input. The movement of the flow control member is sensed to obtain a second signal representing the responsive dynamic output, and the first and second signal are processed to develop valve diagnostic data, which is displayed to enable determination of the dynamic performance of the valve assembly under test.

    摘要: A charge storage capacitor is coupled to an ultor electrode of a cathode ray tube for supplying a beam current when video loading variations occur. A relatively small resistor coupled in series with the capacitor develops an AC feedback signal that is indicative of beam current variations. The AC feedback signal developed in the resistor is coupled to a control input of a high voltage regulator in a negative feedback manner to compensate for the beam current variations. An ultor voltage is developed across a voltage divider. A DC feedback signal is coupled from a terminal of the voltage divider to the control input of the regulator. The DC feedback signal is low-pass filtered via a first low-pass filter. The AC feedback signal is low-pass filtered via a separate low-pass filter that provides less extensive low pass filtering than the first low-pass filter.

    摘要: The raster scanned by a television receiver deflection circuit is subject to an increase in size resulting from a decrease in high voltage level caused by increasing electron beam current. The receiver comprises a switched mode power supply producing a voltage supply that is used to power the deflection circuit and generate the high voltage. The voltage supply level incorporates an ac ripple component caused by loading on the supply due to increasing beam current. A peak detector senses the peak level of the voltage supply and applies it to a regulator control circuit which maintains the peak level of the supply voltage constant. Increasing beam current loads the supply, decreasing the average dc voltage level applied to the deflection circuit, thereby decreasing the electron beam scan to compensate for a reduction in high voltage level.

    摘要: A seal assembly is provided for a rotary ball valve having a top-mounted bonnet, thereby allowing the seal assembly to be installed and removed without removing the valve from the pipeline. In an embodiment, the seal assembly may include a seal ring disposed within the valve interior and biased toward the ball element of the valve. A seal carrier may be disposed between the seal ring and the valve body, and the seal carrier may be removably secured to the valve body by a plurality of bolts disposed in the valve interior. A primary leak path may exists between the seal ring and the seal carrier and a secondary leak path may exists between the seal carrier and the valve body. A first and second auxiliary seal may prevent fluid flow through the primary and secondary leak path, respectively.

    摘要: A regulated power supply for a television receiver includes a transformer having a primary winding coupled to a source of unregulated voltage. A transistor switch controls the interval during which the unregulated voltage causes current to flow in the primary winding. By transformer action, power is transferred to secondary windings which are coupled to receiver load circuits. The secondary winding voltages are regulated by control of the primary winding conduction interval. A supplemental winding is layer wound over the primary winding to transfer additional power to the load circuits. The primary winding may be electrically isolated from the secondary windings and from the supplemental winding.
