    摘要: A signal measurement system tests an RF component in an RF test facility, such as an RF anechoic chamber. The system includes a repeater which is connected to an exterior antenna disposed outside the chamber and a transmitting antenna disposed inside the chamber. The repeater receives the RF broadcast signal from the exterior antenna and rebroadcasts it as an RF testing signal inside the chamber. The subject antenna receives the RF testing signal, which is then analyzed with a computer. The repeater may also modify the RF testing signal to produce a wide variety of test situations that mimic those available in a traditional field-test.

    摘要: A signal measurement system tests an RF component in an RF test facility, such as an RF anechoic chamber.     摘要: An antenna for radiating an electromagnetic field having both linear and circular polarization includes a ground plane and a dielectric layer. The dielectric layer is disposed on the ground plane and has at least one exposed surface that radiates the electromagnetic field. A first feeding element is disposed on the exposed surface for electrically exciting the dielectric layer to provide the linear polarization at a first frequency having a first effective wavelength. A second feeding element is disposed on the exposed surface for electrically exciting the dielectric layer to provide the circular polarization at a second frequency having a second effective wavelength. The feeding elements are separated by a distance greater than ⅛ wavelength of the largest of the effective wavelengths.

    摘要: The invention provides a method of operating a patch antenna having a radiating element. The radiating patch is excited and generates a circularly polarized radiation beam solely in a higher order mode at a desired frequency. This allows for the radiating element to have a small surface area with the radiating beam tilted away from an axis perpendicular to the radiating element. Thus, the patch antenna provides a relatively small footprint and excellent RF signal reception from SDARS satellites at low elevation angles.

Each radiating layer defines a pair of perturbation features. A ground plane layer is disposed underneath the radiating layers. The feed line layer allows for connection of a single transmission line to the antenna and for electromagnetically connecting the radiating layers to the transmission line. The radiation element is disposed on a pane of glass. The radiation element defines a slot having a first leg and a second leg forming the shape of a cross for generating the circular and/or linear polarization. The cross-shaped slot includes a center point. The ground plane is disposed substantially parallel to and spaced from the radiation element. The dielectric substrate is sandwiched between the radiation element and the ground plane. The feed line extends within the dielectric substrate and is electromagnetically coupled with the radiation element and the ground plane. The feed line terminates at a distal end short of the center point of the slot. That is, the feed line does not cross the center point. The antenna is compact in size and generally conformal to the pane of glass.
