Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media that implement an autonomous or semi-autonomous growth platform used to control live cargo exposures to environmental parameters by changing depth in an offshore environment. For example, the growth platform can be lowered at night so that farmed seaweed can perform luxury uptake of nutrients and raised during the daytime so that the farmed seaweed can capture sunlight.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a precursor dispenser for dispensing a precursor material into a workspace, one or more acoustic sources configured to direct acoustic waves towards the workspace to provide acoustic fields that arrange the precursor material in a three-dimensional shape in the workspace, one or more sensors configured to detect a distribution of the precursor material in the workspace, and an electronic controller in communication with the precursor dispenser, the one or more acoustic sources, and the one or more sensors, the electronic controller being programmed to cause the one or more acoustic sources to adjust the acoustic fields to reduce deviations in the distribution of the precursor material from the three-dimensional shape in the workspace.

Abstract: A nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) apparatus includes a pair of permanent magnets spaced apart from each other and defining a sample space, the permanent magnets providing a magnetic field in the sample space, an array of magnetic field sensors arranged relative to the sample space to provide, during operation, information about a homogeneity of the magnetic field, an array of magnetic coils arranged relative to the sample space so that each magnetic coil, during operation, generates a magnetic field that changes the magnetic field in the sample space, and an electronic controller programmed to receive information about the magnetic field from the array of magnetic field sensors and to variably energize the magnetic coils in the array of magnetic coils so that the magnetic fields generated by the array of magnetic coils reduces inhomogeneities of the magnetic field.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a housing, an ultrasound transducer in the housing and positioned to direct ultrasound signals to a volume of a subject and detect reflected ultrasound signals from the volume of the subject, a magnet arranged in the housing and positioned such that a magnetic field of the magnet penetrates the volume of the subject, a radiofrequency (RF) system to perturb a nuclear spin polarization of nuclei in the volume of the subject and detect radio waves emitted from the volume, and an electronic controller programmed to compile an image of at least a first region of the subject based on the detected ultrasound signals and compile a magnetic resonance image of at least a second region of the subject based on the detected radio waves.

Abstract: A method and a device for measuring a fluid flow characteristic of an ambient fluid and modifying fluid flow of the ambient fluid, the method including: applying a first voltage between a first electrode and a second electrode, the first voltage being sufficient to generate a plasma in the first space; applying a second voltage between the first electrode and a third electrode, the second voltage being sufficient to generate a plasma in the second space; measuring a first current between the first and second electrodes, and a second current between the first and third electrodes; determining a fluid flow characteristic of the ambient fluid; and applying a third voltage between the first and second electrodes, the third voltage being sufficient to generate a plasma in the first space sufficient to modify fluid flow of the ambient fluid in the first direction in the first space.
