The apparatus is located in a pipe which supplies liquid fuel to the anode of a direct liquid feed fuel cell, and may include a vertical supporting beam located in the pipe; a horizontal plate located on the supporting beam and having an upper surface with a predetermined roughness; and a sensor fixed to a side of the supporting beam, which generates an electrical signal through a transformation of the supporting beam resulting from variations in a viscosity of the liquid fuel running through the pipe.

    摘要: A diaphragm air pump comprises a pump chamber, a diaphragm and one or more piezoelectric beams or bimorphs. Fluid flows into the pump chamber and then flows out of it, the diaphragm is provided within the pump chamber, and one or more central openings are formed in the diaphragm. One or more central check valves are provided in the central openings. The diaphragm is just bonded with piezoelectric beams, not fixed to the lower housing of the pump chamber in order to get large displacement. With the provided diaphragm air pump, it is possible to actively adjust the air quantity according to the requirement for fuel cell or a part-to-be-cooled, and it is also possible to reduce noise and power consumption compared with a conventional fan type cooler or air pumps.

    摘要: A diaphragm air pump comprises a pump chamber, a diaphragm and one or more piezoelectric beams or bimorphs. Fluid flows into the pump chamber and then flows out of it, the diaphragm is provided within the pump chamber, and one or more central openings are formed in the diaphragm. One or more central check valves are provided in the central openings. The diaphragm is just bonded with piezoelectric beams, not fixed to the lower housing of the pump chamber in order to get large displacement. With the provided diaphragm air pump, it is possible to actively adjust the air quantity according to the requirement for fuel cell or a part-to-be-cooled, and it is also possible to reduce noise and power consumption compared with a conventional fan type cooler or air pumps.

    摘要: A fuel delivery apparatus for a direct liquid feed fuel cell is provided. The fuel delivery apparatus includes a plate stack formed by a one or more double-sided plates positioned between opposing end plates. Both sides of the one or more double-sided plates, and the interior side of each end plate, may include one or more microchannels that extend between, and link, an inlet port with an outlet port. The length of the microchannels is chosen to be less than the height of a predetermined meniscus so that liquid fuel propelled by capillary force forms a meniscus that stands proximate the interface between the ends of the microchannels and the outlet port. A heater may be located at the upper ends of the microchannels around the plate stack, to vaporize the liquid fuel at the meniscus.
