摘要: Provided herein are methods of treating a cancer in a subject comprising administering a FOXP3 protein, a nucleic acid encoding a FOXP3 protein, or an inducing compound which induces FOXP3 protein expression. Methods of altering a phenotype of a cancer cell or tumor cell, methods of inhibiting growth of such cells, and methods of inducing apoptosis of these cells are also provided herein. These methods comprise contacting the cell with a FOXP3 protein, a nucleic acid encoding a FOXP3 protein, or an inducing compound which induces FOXP3 protein expression. Further provided herein are diagnostic methods, comprising comparing the expression or structure of a FOXP3 protein or FOXP3 gene in a test sample to that of a normal or prior sample. A method of screening a test compound for anti-cancer activity comprising administering to cells the test compound and measuring FOXP3 protein or FOXP3 gene expression is moreover provided herein.

摘要: A dual-modulation Faraday rotation spectroscopic (FRS) system is disclosed. The FRS system uses an FRS sample cell configured to subject a sample to a low frequency modulated magnetic field. The system includes a polarized laser light source configured to generate a high frequency wavelength-modulated light beam incident on the sample, the high frequency wavelength-modulated light beam being modulated at a higher frequency than the low frequency modulated magnetic field. A polarizer is configured to receive from the sample a transmitted light beam having a modulated polarization having a polarization rotation and translate the modulated polarization of the transmitted light beam into an intensity modulated beam. A photodetector is configured to detect the intensity modulated beam and generate a photodetector signal. A dual demodulator is coupled to the photodetector and is configured to demodulate the photodetector signal.

摘要: Management of a planner through use of a middleware layer. A computer system is configured with the middleware layer in communication with both a planner and a data repository. One or more modules are provided in the middleware layer to support the functionality of the planner. Application program interface calls are employed to call the modules, thereby mitigating duplication of the functionality in separate planners.

摘要: One embodiment of the present invention provides a method comprising assigning a first weight to a first consumer and a second weight to a second consumer. The method further comprises receiving at a first scheduler a request for service by a first resource to the first consumer; receiving at a second scheduler a request for service by a second resource to the first consumer; and receiving at the first scheduler a request for service by the first resource to the second consumer. The method further comprises scheduling, by the first and second schedulers, service from the first and second resources to the first and second consumers, wherein the scheduling maintains total service provided by the first and second resources to the first and second consumers in proportion to the respective weights of the first and second consumers without requiring the first and second schedulers to communicate with each other.

摘要: A method is disclosed for wirelessly providing easily accessed and comprehended location-relevant information to a mobile device or web browser by displaying a map showing locations of interest. Simply by touching the map, a user can specify locations and regions used for queries and for uploading peer-to-peer information such as blogs, reviews, items for sale, etc. The device can request information, receive synchronously or asynchronously pushed responses, and display them with symbols that indicate category, age, etc. Location-aware devices can automatically specify their locations and provide location histories. Regions of interest can be adjusted according to visitation frequency, or region boundaries can simply be traced on the map. Limits can be placed on requested information and on distribution of uploaded information. Queries can use fuzzy logic, transactions can be completed using the devices, and requested information can be delivered when battery charge level and wireless link quality are appropriate.
