摘要: An inexpensive, safe method for sterilizing an apparatus for the preparation of a recording material, which obviates troubles affecting a coated surface of the recording material caused by bacteria and fungi, does not cause changes in photographic performance (sensitivity, fog, graininess and sharpness), can prevent the appearance of "resistant cells", and can comply with environmental problems, said method comprising sterilizing a surface of the apparatus being in contact with a coating composition for the recording material by use of a strongly acidic solution having a redox potential of 1,000 mV or more which is obtained by electrolysis of water.

摘要: In curtain coating for multiple layers consisting of lower most layer, uppermost layer and intermediate layer, using coating liquid having viscosity more than 300 mPas for one layer or more of multiple layers improves amazingly the curtain coating stability against disturbance such as passing spliced portion of running web. The one layer or more layers for which coating liquid having viscosity more than 300 mPas is to be used is selected from intermediate layer. The curtain coating stability is further improved by combining the high viscosity coating liquid for intermediate layer with other technologies such as electrifying web, heating web upstream of coating point and/or keeping web tension higher than some specified value.

摘要: An improved tooth profile for a roller chain sprocket enables noise reduction from impact and polygonal action during the meshing process. The profile of the engaging flank consists of three portions which are the seating, impact and distal portions all three of which are arcs with well-defined radii and arc centers. The profile of the disengaging flank is determined in accordance to a modified form of the JIS standard in which the sprocket pitch is smaller than the roller chain pitch. The impact point is located at the tangent point, thus permitting a gradual change of the roller velocity, thereby lessening the impact level and the effects of polygonal action.
