摘要: In a single-reel type tape cartridge, a coupling portion of a leader tape includes a pair of winding pieces disposed at opposite sides of a cutout and each winding piece includes a base portion and a turnover portion wound around a pin of a leader member so as to be ultrasonically welded to the base portion. An anvil for supporting the coupling portion of the leader tape has a pair of anvil faces each having a width smaller than that of the turnover portion and ultrasonic welding of the turnover portion to the base portion is performed by supporting the coupling portion on the anvil faces. The turnover portion is divided into a completely welded area having a width substantially equal to that of each of the anvil faces and an incompletely welded area disposed outside each of opposite side edges of the completely welded area.

摘要: A tape cartridge suitable for high density recording of information signals is provided by enhancing the form accuracy and the assembly precision of a flange fixed to a hub to achieve a high-precision tape reel. The tape reel is placed inside a main casing for winding and storing a recording tape. The tape reel is composed of an upper flange and a hub integrally having a lower flange. The upper flange joined to the upper surface of the hub is fastened and fixed with a screw screwed into the hub from the upper side of the upper flange. The upper flange is fastened and fixed to the hub with a plurality of screws provided in positions away from the central axis of rotation of the tape reel.

摘要: In a single-reel type tape cartridge of a servo tracking system in which signal recording is performed, a tape reel capable of eliminating edge projection during tape winding and achieving high recording density of a magnetic tape and a magnetic tape cartridge for housing the tape reel is provided. The tape reel is provided with a cylindrical hub around which the magnetic tape is wound and a pair of upper and lower flanges. The average value of the thickness of a reference flange that receives the tape edge of the magnetic tape during tape winding is set greater than the average value of the thickness of the opposite flange. The tape receiving surface of the reference flange is formed into an inclined surface, and three or more air escape recess portions are formed on the tape receiving surface. The depth of each air escape recess portion is set not smaller than 0.05 mm and not greater than 0.40 mm. The occupation area of all the air escape recess portions is set to 30% to 80% of the total area of the reference flange. Such tape reel is housed in a magnetic tape cartridge.

摘要: In a single-reel type tape cartridge, a floating-lock structure comprising lock pieces and a lock spring for locking and biasing the lock pieces is provided between an upper surface of a tape reel and an upper case. On each of the lock piece are provided a restriction member for restricting upward movement of the tape reel and a releaser that is subjected to an unlocking operation performed an unlock member in a tape drive. Entry grooves for the unlock members are formed on an outer surface of the upper case, and the releasers are exposed in the entry grooves from operation openings provided in part of the entry grooves. When a main body case is loaded in the tape drive, the releasers are subjected to the unlocking operation by the unlock members so that the restriction members can move and evacuate upward in a hub space surrounded by a reel hub.

摘要: A tape cartridge has a tape housing, first and second reel member cooperate with each other to constitute a reel around which a tape is wound, a connecting and biasing member connecting between the first and second, and first and second engaging means. The first engaging means is provided on an inner surface of the lower wall. The second engaging means is provided on a lower surface of the second reel member. This arrangement allows that the second engaging means can engage with the first engaging means due to a biasing force caused by the connecting and biasing member to prevent a rotation of the second reel member and can disengage from the first engaging means when the drive shaft accesses the second reel member through the opening and forces the second reel member toward the first reel member against the biasing force of the connecting and biasing member.

摘要: A single reel tape cartridge capable of achieving high-speed read/write access to tapes at high density by enhancing the molding accuracy of lower flange and eliminating inclination and waviness of flange walls is provided. A reel incorporated in a main case is composed of an upper flange, a lower flange, and a boss which is integrally plastic-molded with the lower flange for taking up a magnetic tape. An exit port for allowing an operating nail of an unlock tool to get in and out is open on the bottom wall of the boss. The lower flange is molded in the state that a bridging piece extending along radial direction of the lower flange is formed in the exit port, so that resin flow to the flange wall radially outside the exit port is promoted. The bridging piece is removed after the lower flange is molded.

摘要: There are provided a tape cartridge which can reliably remove contamination adhering to the surface of a head and a tape loading system using the same. A tape such as recording tapes and leader tapes is unreeled from a case body housing the tape and is taken up to the take up reel of a tape drive through a loading path of the tape drive. A brush which can bend elastically is placed on a leading end side of the tape in a protruding manner. The brush moves in the state of being in contact with a head placed along the loading path of the tape drive upon unreeling of the tape, so that the head of the tape drive is cleaned by the brush.
