Abstract:
In a pre-tensioner assembly for automatically increasing a tension of a seat belt in case of a vehicle crash, an arm is pivotally attached to a base plate at its one end and to a part of a seat belt, and a cylinder and piston device is attached to the base plate to selectively rotate the arm from a rest position to an operative position. Typically, the cylinder and piston device comprises a linear cylinder having a propellant placed in a bottom end thereof. The rotary arm for displacing a buckle or other part of the seat belt can be substantially directly connected to the piston of the actuator, and because the piston rod is pushed out of the cylinder when actuating the rotary arm, the pressure receiving surface of the piston can be maximized. Therefore, the power transmission efficiency is improved, and the required amount of the propellant can be reduced with the result that the size and the cost of the assembly can be minimized.
Abstract:
The invention relates to improvements in video reproduction techniques, particularly with respect to video disk recordings. The disclosed apparatus has the capability of storing video in a video memory for subsequent single or repeated playback. Video memory readout may be used to mask a search function, or may accompany the audio playback from the same or a different disk. A strobe-readout technique is also disclosed wherein the video memory is rewritten at user defined intervals which are typically small multiples of the video field or frame rate.
Abstract:
In a paper-like piece handling apparatus, a same drive (M2) is shared between a stacker mechanism (11) for storing an inserted paper-like piece (P) into a cumulative paper-like piece storage section (20) and a shutter (10) for opening/closing a predetermined transport path (4). The shared use of the drive (M2) can reduce the number of necessary component parts and overall cost of the apparatus.
Abstract:
This invention provides a forming method capable of forming tapered through holes at once with a single pressing operation. A hole is formed in a work with a piercing punch 1 mounted on a press by using a small-diameter punching portion 1a formed on the distal end of the punch 1. A hole 11 formed at this time has a section with an open lower end portion by pressing. By using this hole 11 as a guide, a tapering portion 1b having a diameter slightly larger than the diameter of this hole and a tapered surface T forms a tapered surface on the inner surface of the hole 11 in accordance with plastic working. A "burr 3a" is formed on the edge of the hole 11 by this plastic working. Formation of this "burr 3a" is prevented with a pressure portion 1c formed on the piercing punch 1. When the above process is performed in a single pressing operation, a plurality of tapered through holes can be formed easily.
Abstract:
A paper money processor using a single motor in which, when the motor is forwardly driven, a power transmission section transmits a rotational force of the motor only to a paper money transporter section to convey an inserted paper money into the interior of a processor body and when the motor is reversely driven, the power transmission section transmits the rotational force of the motor to both of the paper money transporter section and a pushing section to drive the both so as to return the paper money back to a paper money insert slot, and when a repayment demand occurs, a control section permits the reverse rotation of the motor only if the paper money is located at a returnable position.
Abstract:
An apparatus for controlling rotation of a spindle motor includes a lock detection unit, a memory unit, a comparison unit, and a control unit. When the lock detection unit detects the lock state of the time base servo loop, a voltage corresponding to the frequency of a read RF signal is stored in the memory unit. When the control unit detects that the rotation velocity of the spindle motor greatly deviates from a normal rotation velocity, it effects a control so as to accelerate or decelerate the spindle motor in dependency upon a compared result of the comparison unit which makes a comparison between a voltage corresponding to the frequency of the read RF signal and a voltage stored in the memory unit.
Abstract:
A multiplied speed reproducing apparatus for performing reproduction at a multiplied speed by alternately reading information into a video memory for repeated reading out and track jumping. The contents of the video memory are renewed for at least one field of video information existing between two synchronizing pulses following a fixed circumferential position of the disk and then the tracks are jumped.
Abstract:
In a single-reel type tape cartridge of a servo tracking system in which signal recording is performed, a tape reel capable of eliminating edge projection during tape winding and achieving high recording density of a magnetic tape and a magnetic tape cartridge for housing the tape reel is provided. The tape reel is provided with a cylindrical hub around which the magnetic tape is wound and a pair of upper and lower flanges. The average value of the thickness of a reference flange that receives the tape edge of the magnetic tape during tape winding is set greater than the average value of the thickness of the opposite flange. The tape receiving surface of the reference flange is formed into an inclined surface, and three or more air escape recess portions are formed on the tape receiving surface. The depth of each air escape recess portion is set not smaller than 0.05 mm and not greater than 0.40 mm. The occupation area of all the air escape recess portions is set to 30% to 80% of the total area of the reference flange. Such tape reel is housed in a magnetic tape cartridge.
Abstract:
A bill processing apparatus with a credit card reader is configured such that a credit card insert slot (9) for inserting a credit card (50) therein is formed in the upper surface of a front mask (5), a credit card guide chute (20) connected to the credit card insert slot (9) is formed in the front mask (5) so as to be connected to a bill guide chute (8), and the lower surface (8b) of this bill guide chute (8) is bent so as to be proximate to the lower surface (5c) of the front mask, and when the credit card (50) is inserted into the credit card insert slot (9), the credit card (50) enters the bill insert slot (8) by way of the credit card guide chute (20) and reaches the lower surface (8b) of the bill guide chute (8), whereby credit card data can be stably read inside a front mask without changing the size of a conventional standardized front mask.
