    摘要： A generation circuit generates gray scale voltages having a plurality of levels for positive polarity and gray scale voltages having a plurality of levels for negative polarity; wherein said generation circuit, in the mode in which the number of colors to be displayed on a display panel is small, decreases a current flowing into an internal circuit which generates a gray scale voltage of an intermediate level other than two gray scale voltages of a gray scale voltage of the most lowest level and a gray scale voltage of the most highest level among the gray scale voltages of said plurality of levels, in comparison to a current flowing in the other mode; and wherein said selection circuit, in the mode in which the number of colors to be displayed on said display panel is small, selects said gray scale voltage according to said display data, from the two gray scale voltages of said most lowest level gray scale voltage and said most highest level gray scale voltage which are generated from said generation circuit.

    摘要： A reference voltage generating circuit which generates reference voltages at a plurality of levels, a voltage follower circuit for stabilizing the reference voltages at a plurality of levels and a gray scale voltage generating circuit which generates gray scale voltages at a plurality of levels from the stabilized reference voltages are provided. The voltage follower circuit includes a differential amplifier which receives at one input the reference voltages, first and second buffer circuits connected in parallel to each other, and a resistor. Outputs of the first and second buffer circuits are connected to each other through the resistor, with the output of the first buffer circuit being fed back to the other input of the differential amplifier and the output of the second buffer circuit being connected to serve as an output of the voltage follower circuit.

When the number of colors to be displayed is small, the generation circuit decreases a current flowing into an internal circuit which generates a gray scale voltage of an intermediate level other than two gray scale voltages of a gray scale voltage of the most lowest level and a gray scale voltage of the most highest level among the gray scale voltages of the plurality of levels, and the selection circuit selects the gray scale voltage according to the display data from the most lowest level gray scale voltage and the most highest level gray scale voltage which are generated.

    摘要： A display apparatus comprising: a display panel; a data driver for outputting a gray scale voltage corresponding to display data to said display panel via a data line; a gate driver for outputting a gate-on voltage and a gate-off voltage to said display panel via a scan line; and a power supply circuit for outputting a power supply voltage (DDVDH) for driving of said data driver, a reference voltage (VDH) for said gray scale voltage, said gate-on voltage (VGH), said gate-off voltage (Vgoff), and a common voltage (Vcom) for a common electrode of said display panel, wherein said common voltage includes a common voltage (VcomH) of high level and a common voltage (VcomL) of low level, said gate-off voltage includes a gate-off voltage (VgoffH) of high level and a gate-off voltage (VgoffL) of low level, and said power supply circuit includes: a first circuit for generating said power supply voltage; a second circuit for generating said gate-on voltage; a third circuit for generating said reference voltage; a fourth circuit for receiving said reference voltage and generating said common voltage of high level from said reference voltage; a fifth circuit for receiving said common voltage of high level and generating said common voltage of low level from said common voltage of high level; a sixth circuit for switching between said common voltage of high level and said common voltage of low level to output any one of said common voltages; a seventh circuit for generating said gate-off voltage of low level; an eighth circuit for receiving said gate-off voltage of low level and generating said gate-off voltage of high level from said gate-off voltage of low level; and an ninth circuit for switching between said gate-off voltage of high level and said gate-off voltage of low level to output any one of said gate-off voltages.
