Abstract:
An unlimited number of water control valves and moisture sensors may be installed during original construction and/or during a retrofitting of an irrigation system. Individual control valves may have a downstream side distributing water or otherwise providing or controlling irrigation. The control valves may have an upstream side or control side being connected to an irrigation program server, the irrigation program server eschewing the need or use of a central controller, by providing individual control to each control valve. Wireless and energy efficient valve control may be provided by using a vault and buoy system sending and receiving information and instructions to a gateway with the gateway in wireless communion with a cloud storage and communication system with in turn may be wirelessly in connection with a irrigation program server. An end consumer may use a smart phone or other device to program and/or monitor irrigation functions.
Abstract:
A wireless pit meter (WPM) transmitter unit comprises a complete wireless system for reading and transmitting water meter data, wherein the water meter may be submersed in water. In order to lower installation costs and to improve system reliability, a buoy transmitter is used within a water meter vault such that varying levels of water do not degrade radio signal propagation. A wire may be attached to a submerged water meter sending data to a disclosed buoy. The buoy has an antenna to transmit data to the underside of a pit lid repeater PLR, the PLR having an underside within the water meter pit and a top side reaching the outside of the water pit lid. The top side of the PLR comprises a spiral antenna capable of transmitting or repeating the water meter data to a distant receiver with the receiver in communication with a billing system.

Abstract:
A water meter transmission system reads data from a water meter and wirelessly transmits data to a central billing or receiving system. Disclosed transmission systems are fully integrated and contained within pit housings such that the electronic components are well protected. A flat spiral VHF antenna is integrated into a specially configured integrated antenna cover which fits into the top cover of a pit housing. The antenna cover and/or upper lip area of the upper lip of the main housing comprises protrusions complementary to the distal barrier and medial barrier of the integrated cover and is used to exclude water and contaminates. Disclosed transmission systems offer high output and low power consumption and vitiate the need for meter readers to physically access a water meter or other meters.

Abstract:
A new Flat Spiral VHF Antenna (FSVA) transmits circularly polarized RF transmissions only. The spiral antenna transmits from circular components only, forgoing transmission from any vertical or horizontal component. The spiral antenna may be integrated into an integrated antenna cover which fits into the top cover of a pit housing. The antenna cover and/or upper lip area of the upper lip of the main housing may comprise a distal barrier and a medial barrier used to exclude water and contaminates.
