摘要: A signal processing technique for estimating the frequency of a pulsatile signal (including but not limited to pulse oximetry signals) is disclosed. Each of the functions contained within a pre-selected set of functions is compared to the input signal at many different time-shifts, and the function/time-shift combination that best matches the input signal is selected. The frequency of the best-matching function is then used as the best estimate of the frequency of the input signal. Optionally, once a function has been selected, the rising portion of the selected function can be correlated in time to the rising portion of the input signal. Improved results can then be obtained by basing the oxygen saturation level calculations on samples taken from the rising portion of the input signal.

摘要: A method and apparatus extract a signal component of a measured signal using one of two methods. If the signal component in the measured signal is a periodic signal with a certain well-defined peak-to-peak intensity value, upper and lower envelopes of the measured signal are determined and analyzed to extract said signal component of the measured signal. This signal component can further be used to calculate a desired parameter of the sample. The DC component of the signal is determined as the median value of the upper envelope, and the AC component is determined as the median value of the difference between the upper and lower envelopes. If the signal component of the measured signal is a periodic signal characterized by a specific asymmetric shape, a specific adaptive filtering is applied to the measured signal, resulting in the enhancement of the signal component relative to a noise component. This adaptive filtering is based on a derivative of the Gaussian Kernel having specific parameters matching the characteristics of the signal component.

摘要: A holder for a sensor includes a body having a top wall and a side portion extending away from the top wall. The sensor is adapted to sense a parameter of an item. The top wall and the side portion of the body form an interior cavity. A flange is coupled to and extends away from an edge of the side portion. A pressure application portion is coupled to a surface of the interior cavity of the body and is adapted to apply force to the sensor when the holder is coupled to the surface of the item.

摘要: A method for measuring blood pressure during a limited number of blood pressure cycles at an area overlying an artery of a living subject, includes applying a pressure (P) to the artery for occluding the artery in response to a pressure signal. Subsequently the pressure is released to re-open the artery in response to a pressure release signal. A delay time is computed, by comparing a first time duration with a second time duration. The delay time is from a reference point in time after which a next pressure release signal is to be supplied to a device for applying a pressure. A pressure to be applied to the artery in a next measuring cycle is computed. Subsequently a pressure signal and a pressure release signal corresponding to the computed pressure and delay time are supplied to the device for applying a pressure.
