    摘要: A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal disposed between the first substrate having first signal lines and second signal lines defining pixel regions and the second substrate. The pixel regions include a first transparent electrode, and a second transparent electrode which is overlapped with the first electrode through an insulating layer. The second transparent electrode is elongated so as to extend to plural pixel regions in overlapping relation with the first signal line which extends in plural pixel regions, and at least one strip-shaped opening portion is delimited between adjacent second transparent electrodes arranged in an extension direction of the first signal line, the at least one strip-shaped opening portion being formed in overlapping relation with the second signal line. A metal line is connected to the second transparent electrode, the metal line being elongated to extend to plural pixel regions.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal disposed between the first substrate having drain lines and gate signal lines defining pixel regions and the second substrate. The pixel regions include a pixel electrode formed of a transparent conducting layer and having a plurality of slits, a common electrode formed of a transparent conducting layer, the common electrode being overlapped with the pixel electrode through an insulating layer, and the liquid crystal being driven by an electric field generated by the pixel electrode and the common electrode. A conductor layer is arranged proximate to the drain signal line. The conductor layer is placed at a position where at least a part thereof overlaps the common electrode, and the conductor layer is not connected to the drain signal line and the pixel electrode electrically.

In a cross section of an end portion of the first electrode in a direction of a length of a channel of the plurality of thin film transistors, the impurity doped semiconductor is configured to extend a minimum distance of 0.2 μm beyond the first electrode in the direction of a length of a channel of the plurality of thin film transistors in order to prevent overhanging of the first electrode beyond the impurity doped semiconductor in the direction of a length of a channel of the plurality of thin film transistors.

The pixel regions include a TFT element, a first electrode formed of a transparent electrode, a second electrode formed of a transparent electrode. The second electrode is disposed between the first electrode and the one of the substrates, the second electrode is overlapped with the first electrode in the pixel region, is overlapped with the gate signal line, and is connected with the second electrode of an adjacent pixel region. A metal line is arranged for a plurality of the pixel regions, is overlapped with the second electrode, and is connected to the second electrode electrically.

The liquid crystal display device is substantially characterized in that the common electrodes are formed as layers above the color filters, the pixel electrodes are formed as layers below the color filters, and the color filters are superposed at least on the whole surfaces of the pixel electrodes in the pixel region.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device includes transparent pixel electrodes disposed at intersections of scanning signal lines and data lines, and a plurality of thin film transistors each of which is provided correspondingly to one of the pixel electrodes. Each of the transistors includes an output electrode connected to one of the pixel electrodes, a control electrode connected to one of the scanning signal lines, and an input electrode connected to one of the data lines. A first insulating film covers the scanning signal lines, and a semiconductor layer is interposed between the first insulating film and a portion of the data lines. The method of making the liquid crystal display device includes the steps of etching a transistor semiconductor layer underlying the output electrode, in the thin film transistors using a photoresist mask formed on the transistor semiconductor layer such that an etched end of the transistor semiconductor layer on a side of the output electrode extends beyond an end of the output electrode, and etching an end of the semiconductor layer underlying the data lines, of the semiconductor layer using a metal film making up the data lines as a mask.
