    摘要: If all original subbands are not selected for processing in conventional subband coders or decoders aliasing distortion is generated by the characteristics of their subband band-splitting filters or subband band synthesis filters. To improve sound quality in a subband decoder the decoded frequency components in the overlap region adjacent to a subband selected not to be decoded are band-limited prior to synthesis. Alternatively, in a subband coder the sound quality in a processed subband adjacent to one not to be coded is improved by band-limiting the filtering frequency overlap region between these subbands prior to coding. By thus decoding only the non-overlapping part of the subband adjacent to an omitted subband signal distortion is reduced.

    摘要: A signal encoding method and apparatus for encoding input digital signals by so-called high efficiency encoding, and a recording medium having the encoded signals. An attack portion and a release portion of audio signals are detected and a gain control function is selected at least for waveform elements (waveform signals) of a signal portion ahead of the attack portion and waveform elements of the release portion from among plural gain control functions responsive to characteristics of the waveform signals. At least the waveform elements (waveform signals) ahead of the attack portion and the waveform elements of the release portion are gain controlled. The resulting gain-controlled audio signals are transformed into plural spectral components which are encoded along with the control information for gain control. With the present encoding method and apparatus, the encoding efficiency may be improved, while pre-echo and post-echo may be effectively prohibited and the sound quality may be prohibited from being deteriorated even for the high compression ratio.

    摘要: The present technique relates to a sound processing apparatus, a method, and a program capable of alleviating degradation of the quality of sound in a case where the gain of a sound signal is amplified.When equalizer processing for adjusting the gain of each frequency band of an input signal on the basis of a gain setting value is performed, an input signal is attenuated by an input attenuation amount derived from the gain setting value, and the equalizer processing is performed on the input signal attenuated. The amount of amplification of the gain of the input signal in the equalizer processing is estimated on the basis of the gain setting value and a weight coefficient of each frequency band derived from a generally-available music signal prepared in advance, and a difference of the estimation value and the input attenuation amount is calculated as a gain correction amount. Further, nonlinear amplification processing is performed on the input signal so as to actually amplify the input signal, which has been subjected to the equalizer processing, by a gain correction amount, and an output signal is obtained. The present technique can be applied to a sound processing apparatus.

In one exemplary embodiment, the system receives an encoded low-frequency range signal and encoded energy information used to frequency shift the encoded low-frequency range signal. The low-frequency range signal is decoded and an energy depression of the decoded signal is smoothed. The smoothed low-frequency range signal is frequency shifted to generate a high-frequency range signal. The low-frequency range signal and high-frequency range signal are then combined and outputted.
