摘要: A carrier for developing electrostatic latent images is provided. The carrier includes a magnetic core particle and a resin layer coating a surface of the magnetic core particle. The resin layer includes a particulate material A having a volume average particle diameter (a) and a particulate material B having a volume average particle diameter (b). The volume average particle diameter (a) of the particulate material A is the largest among volume average particle diameters of all particulate materials included in the resin layer, and an inequation 100≥(a)/(b)≥5 is satisfied. The particulate material A is barium sulfate.

摘要: Carrier for image forming includes a core material particle including a magnetic material and a coating layer disposed on the surface of the core material particle, the coating layer including a resin, carbon black, an inorganic particulate A, and an inorganic particulate B. The carbon black has a concentration gradient along a thickness direction of the coating layer with a concentration from high to low toward a surface of the coating layer while the inorganic particulate A has a concentration gradient along a thickness direction of the coating layer with a concentration from low to high toward the surface of the coating layer. The volume ratio of the carbon black is 0-30 percent at a depth range of 0.0-0.1 μm from the surface of the coating layer. The inorganic particulate A is electroconductive with a powder specific resistance of 200 Ω·cm or less.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes movable image bearing member, a first charger means for charging the image bearing member, first electrostatic latent image forming device for forming a first electrostatic latent image in accordance with image information on the image bearing means charged by the first charger, first developing device for developing the first electrostatic latent image, a second charger for re-charging the image bearing member, second electrostatic latent image forming device for forming a second electrostatic latent image in accordance with image information on the image bearing member recharged by the second charger, second developing device for developing the second electrostatic latent image, a dector for detecting a surface potential of the image bearing member, the detector detecting at least the surface potential at that portion of the latent image formed on the image bearing member by the first latent image forming device which is developed, after the portion is charged by the second charger, and a controller for controlling the second charger to provide a target potential of the portion and for controlling a developing bias voltage of the second developing device in accordance with the potential of the portion.
