摘要: Disclosed is an electrophotographic member containing as a charge transport material a fluorine-containing N,N,N',N'-tetraarylbenzidine derivative which is remarkably excellent in solubility in an organic solvent and/or a binder such as polycarbonate resin, etc., can show very excellent electrophotographic properties such as high sensitivity, low residual potential and high durability. Further, a fluorine-containing N,N,N',N'-tetraarylbenzidine derivative usable as a charge transport material, and a process for producing the same are disclosed. Furthermore, a fluorine-containing diarylamine usable for producing the fluorine-containing N,N,N',N'-tetraarylbenzidine derivative, and a process for producing the same are disclosed.

摘要: An improvement is provided in the manufacture of alkylene oxide adducts of an aliphatic alcohol in which the reaction mixture, comprising the alkylene oxide adduct, unreacted alcohol, acid catalyst residue, carbonyl compounds and hydrocarbons, is treated to remove unreacted alcohol for recycle to the adduct formation step. To prevent the build-up in the system of carbonyl compounds and hydrocarbons which are not easily distillable from the recycle alcohol because of their respective boiling points, at least a portion of the recycle alcohol is esterified with boric acid, the esterification mixture is subjected to distillation to remove volatile portions, and the borate ester thus obtained is hydrolyzed to recover the alcohol which is recycled to the adduct formation step.

摘要: A process for the preparation of alcohols by oxidizing aliphatic saturated hydrocarbons, having 10-20 carbon atoms, in the presence of a boron compound, contacting the oxidation reaction mixture with water, removing the aqueous solution of boric acid, and separating the resulting oil layer with saponification and washing with water. A boron compound is added to the resulting oil layer to esterify the alcohols therein. The resulting mixture is distilled to remove unreacted hydrocarbons, the residue comprising borate esters of alcohols is contacted with water, the aqueous solution of boric acid is removed, and the resulting oil layer is separated and distilled to recover the desired alcohols.
