    摘要: An inflator unit provided on a main frame of a motorcycle is provided with an inflator case having an inflator stored therein. Gas generated by the inflator flows through the interior of the main frame and is supplied to the airbag. The inflator case includes the left and right case halves divided along the parting plane and joined with each other by two bolts and the internal space thereof narrows towards an exit opening in the funnel shape. The axis Li of the inflator is shifted to the side opposite from the exit opening with respect to the axis Lc of the inflator case. A main frame may be formed with an atmosphere communication hole for communicating the interior of the main frame with the atmosphere at the position near the inflator case so that the atmosphere is introduced through the atmosphere communication port into the interior of the main frame by the negative pressure generated when gas flows from the inflator to the airbag. Thus, a large-volume airbag can be deployed by a small-capacity inflator.

    摘要: To secure the capacity of an inflator for deploying an airbag even when the airbag unit is downsized due to a limitation with respect to the mounting space. An airbag unit is disposed at the front portion of a fuel tank of a motorcycle V. A pair of inflator units is disposed on the left side and the right side of the centerline L of the vehicle body in a symmetrical manner. The inflators stored in the respective inflator units are connected to the airbag unit via gas supply hoses. Accordingly, even when a space for storing an inflator having a sufficient capacity cannot be provided in the airbag unit, the airbag can reliably be deployed by merging a sufficient amount of gas supplied from the inflators of a plurality of inflator units without any problems.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an easy and cost effective process for extruding a tube having different intermediate sections in its longitudinal direction, and a die for forming a tube through this extrusion molding process. Tubes so formed may be used for a vehicle for example, particularly for the body frame of a motorcycle. The die for this extrusion molding process includes a fixed die and a movable variable die. The tube is formed by material extruded from an outflow passage which is formed by the superposition in the direction of extrusion of a fixed die hole and a variable die hole. The outflow passage has an opening for a tube wall for forming the wall of the tube, and openings for two intermediate walls for forming connecting walls in the inside space of the tube. The tube formed by this process is composed of a part having the connecting wall and a part having no connecting wall. This is accomplished by opening or blocking the opening for the intermediate wall by moving cores according to the amount of the movement of the variable die. The resulting tube has a rigidity that varies along the longitudinal direction of the tube.

To the pump installation member, a tank installation stay for fixing the fuel tank to the body frame is installed. The left and right side walls may be formed by depressing the center of the underside of the fuel tank upwardly over the front and the rear. Concave-shaped engaging members are installed by engaging left and right convex portions provided on the body frame with these engaging members, respectively.

    摘要: In an air intake assembly, a portion of an inner peripheral wall of an intake funnel pipe is provided as a pivotally movable blocking body, so that when unthrottled, an inner wall surface of the blocking body is flush with the inner peripheral wall of the funnel pipe. The blocking body has a substantially trianglular outline shape, the apex of which is positioned on top when viewed along the axis of the support shaft. The support shaft is positioned at the apex of the blocking body, and allows pivotal movement of the blocking body, on the downstream side thereof, to allow adjustment of the rate of air flow through the funnel pipe. The blocking body within the funnel pipe of an air intake assembly allows a smooth flow of air therepast when actuated to throttle the air intake channel, and does not obstruct the air intake channel when inactive.
