    摘要: An optical reading and writing system including a base; an optical disk rotatably mounted on the base; an optical pickup including an objective lens, focusing a light beam to form a light spot on a recording surface of the optical disk; an actuator arm mounted on the base such that the actuator arm can pivot in the radial direction of the optical disk by a voice coil motor; a load beam supported by the actuator arm, and capable of moving slightly up and down and in the radial direction of the optical disk by an external force; a flexure attached to the load beam, supporting a slider to enable the slider to contact the recording surface; and a driving unit mounted on free ends of the actuator arm and the load beam, providing a driving force in the radial direction to the free end of the load beam.

    摘要: An air-bearing slider for an optical disk drive for recording/reproducing information onto/from an optical disk while floating and moving at a predetermined height from the rotatably installed optical disk due to a dynamic air pressure is disclosed. The air-bearing slider includes a slider main body having an objective lens installation hole formed through the slider main body so that an objective lens can be installed, and an opening formed through the slider main body at one side portion of the objective lens installation hole, so that air flow flowing under the slider main body can flow out through the opening via the objective lens installation hole when the slider is floating as a result of dynamic air pressure.

    摘要: A hybrid head to record and reproduce high density data. The hybrid head to record and reproduce data includes an element to record and reproduce data which is formed at the back side of a slider. The element to record and reproduce data includes an energy source to supply energy required to heat a predetermined region of a recording medium to be data-recorded, a magnetic field applier to apply a magnetic field to the predetermined region of the recording medium heated by the energy supplied from the energy source, a data reproducer to reproduce data from the recording medium, a channel to allow the magnetic field supplier to transmit the energy supplied from the energy source to the predetermined region of the recording medium, a heat shield element to prevent heat from being transmitted from the channel to other elements around the channel, a write pole covering the heat shield element, and a magnetic field generator to generate a magnetic field to the write pole. With this design, it is possible to prevent or minimize heat generated by a channel to transmit energy from being transmitted to other elements installed around the channel. In addition, it is possible to prevent the characteristics of the other elements around the channel from being changed due to the heat generated by the channel.

    摘要: An optical pickup apparatus for an optical disk drive records or reproduces data on or from an optical disk, includes an optical head section including an object lens focusing an incident light on the optical disk, a slider on which the object lens is mounted, wherein the slider floats over the optical disk by an air bearing generated between the optical disk and the slider, a bobbin on which the slider is mounted, and a flexure disposed between the slider and the bobbins elastically supporting the slider. A driving unit drives the slider in a tracking direction and a focusing direction. In the above construction, the slider floats over a recording surface of the optical disk due to an air bearing and a near field between the object lens and the optical disk can be controllably maintained.

    摘要: An optical pickup device including a slider on which an objective lens is mounted and which is elastically movably supported by a support member, an air bearing member provided in the slider so that a lifting force pushes the slider away from the disk according to air flow generated during rotation of the disc, and an actuator to change the position of the objective lens mounted on the slider in a focus direction relative to the disc. In the optical pickup device, the slider is lifted from a disk using a lifting force acting on the air bearing member and simultaneously the position of an objective lens is adjusted by a piezoelectric device to perform focus control. Therefore, collision between a disk and an objective lens is avoided, and a focal position is effectively controlled just by changing only the position of the objective lens, thereby increasing the reliability of a recording and/or reproducing operation.

    摘要: In a slim type optical disc drive, an optical pickup unit and an optical pickup transport assembly are installed on a main base disposed in a housing having a lower case and an upper case. A spindle motor is mounted on a tray so as to slide in and out of the housing. A spindle motor printed circuit board is mounted on the tray, and a main printed circuit board is fixed to the lower case. A flexible printed circuit connects the spindle motor and main printed circuits boards. The tray includes a table which supports the spindle motor, and side frame bars located at sides of the tray and spaced apart from the table. A pair of guide ribs are arranged in the housing to guide the movement of the table. In the slim type optical disc drive, only the spindle motor is disposed on the tray.
