Abstract: A method of dynamically selecting a master device for a communication session from a set of peer devices includes: at a first device of the set of peer devices, transmitting local capability data to a second device of the set of peer devices, the local capability data defining an operational capability of the first device; at the first device, receiving remote capability data from the second device, the remote capability data defining an operational capability of the second device; comparing the local and remote capability data at the first device; based on the comparison, determining, at the first device, whether to establish the communication session as a master device; at the first device, establishing the communication session with the second device according to the determination.

Abstract: An example computing device includes: a wireless communications interface configured to connect to a network deployed by a plurality of access points; a controller for the wireless communications interface, the controller configured to, during an ongoing packet exchange with a peer computing device: detect a target pause operation for the computing device to pause a connection to a home access point; in response to the pause condition, obtain a connection status of the peer computing device; determine a priority order of the computing device and the peer computing device based on the connection status and the target pause operation; and pause the connection to the home access point according to the determined priority order.

Abstract: A method for dynamically adjusting a scan pattern and electronic device to perform the same. The method includes obtaining a data packet of a communication session on a first communication channel. The method further includes analyzing the data packet to determine a priority associated with the communication session and determining that the priority associated with the communication session exceeds a threshold. In response to the determination, the method includes adjusting one or more parameters of a scan algorithm implemented by a wireless driver. The method further includes determining that a signal quality for the first communication channel is below the threshold quality level and executing the scan algorithm in accordance with the adjusted one or more parameters.
