    Abstract: A liquid crystal composition including a liquid crystal compound capable of expressing a birefringence with reverse wavelength distribution, a (meth)acrylic acid ester compound other than the liquid crystal compound, and a surfactant containing a fluorine atom, wherein a ratio Mw/Np of a molecular weight Mw of the (meth)acrylic acid ester compound relative to a number of π electrons Np of the (meth)acrylic acid ester compound is 17 or more and 70 or less, and an amount of the surfactant relative to 100 parts by weight of a total of the liquid crystal compound and the (meth)acrylic acid ester compound is 0.11 part by weight or more and 0.29 part by weight or less.

    Abstract: A method for producing a liquid crystal cured film including a liquid crystal cured layer formed of a cured product of a liquid crystal composition including a liquid crystal compound capable of expressing a birefringence with reverse wavelength distribution and a polymerization initiator, the method including: a step of forming a layer of the liquid crystal composition; a step of giving orientation to the liquid crystal compound contained in the layer of the liquid crystal composition; and a step of curing the layer of the liquid crystal composition, wherein a residue content viscosity of a test composition is 800 cP or less under a condition of a temperature that is the same as a temperature of the layer in the step of giving orientation to the liquid crystal compound, the test composition being the liquid crystal composition from which the polymerization initiator is omitted.

    Abstract: A display medium comprises a substrate having first and second surfaces, and a reflective layer on at least one of the first and second surfaces. The substrate includes a polarized light separation layer capable of reflecting circularly polarized light having one rotation direction DA and transmitting circularly polarized light having an opposite rotation direction to the rotation direction DA therethrough. The reflective layer contains first and second reflective pigments capable of reflecting circularly polarized light having rotation directions DBR and DBL, respectively, and transmitting circularly polarized light having opposite rotation directions to the rotation directions DBR and DBL, respectively, therethrough. The rotation directions DBR and DBL of the circularly polarized light that the first and second reflective pigments, respectively, can reflect are opposite to each other. Hues of the circularly polarized light that the first and second reflective pigments can reflect are differ from each other.

    Abstract: A display medium comprising: a multilayered substrate including a polarized light separation layer and a phase difference layer; and a first reflective layer provided on a surface of the multilayered substrate on a side with the polarized light separation layer, wherein: the polarized light separation layer can reflect circularly polarized light which has one rotation direction DA, and can transmit circularly polarized light which has an opposite rotation direction to the rotation direction DA; the first reflective layer can reflect circularly polarized light which has one rotation direction DB1, and can transmit circularly polarized light which has an opposite rotation direction to the rotation direction DB1; and the rotation direction DA of the circularly polarized light that the polarized light separation layer can reflect and the rotation direction DB1 of the circularly polarized light that the first reflective layer can reflect are the same as each other.
