    Abstract: Hollow particles which comprise a shell containing a resin and a hollow portion surrounded by the shell and which have a void ratio of 50% or more, wherein the shell contains, as the resin, a polymer in which 70 parts by mass to 100 parts by mass of a crosslinkable monomer unit is contained in 100 parts by mass of all monomer units, and wherein, in a hollow particle immersion test in which a mixture obtained by adding 0.1 mg of the hollow particles to 4 mL of acetone and shaking them for 10 minutes at a shaking rate of 100 rpm, is left to stand for 48 hours in an environment at 25° C., less than 5% by mass of the hollow particles submerge in the acetone.

    Abstract: The method produces hollow particles which have a high void ratio, which can reduce the residual amount of a sparingly water-soluble solvent used in the production process, and which are less likely to collapse. The method for producing hollow particles which comprise a shell and a hollow portion and which have a void ratio of 50% or more and 90% or less, wherein a suspension treatment of a mixture liquid containing a polymerizable monomer for shell, a polar resin, a hydrocarbon solvent, a sparingly water-soluble inorganic metal salt as a dispersant, and an aqueous medium is carried out to prepare a suspension in which droplets of a monomer composition containing the polymerizable monomer for shell, the polar resin and the hydrocarbon solvent are dispersed in the aqueous medium; a polymerization reaction of the suspension is carried out; and the hydrocarbon solvent is removed from the obtained hollow particles.

    Abstract: Provided is a wax which is used in a toner, whereby the toner is excellent in low-temperature fixability and heat-resistant shelf stability, the glossiness is improved as compared with the prior art, and the generation of ultrafine particles and the bleeding of the wax are not likely to occur. The wax for toners, wherein the wax is an ester wax generated by esterification of a pentaerythritol and a monocarboxylic acid; wherein the monocarboxylic acid used for the esterification contains a behenic acid, an arachidic acid and a stearic acid; and wherein, with respect to 100% by mass of the monocarboxylic acid, a content ratio of the behenic acid is from 60% by mass to 80% by mass; a content ratio of the arachidic acid is from 5% by mass to 15% by mass; and a content ratio of the stearic acid is from 15% by mass to 25% by mass.
