A method of communication using a forward error correction (FEC) code includes receiving, at an optical line terminal (OLT), performance capability information provided by an optical network unit (ONU), adjusting, at the OLT, a ratio between an FEC code size and a payload size based on the performance capability information, and informing the ONU of the FEC code size selected based on the ratio such that message exchanges between the ONU and the OLT are performed using the FEC code size to which the ratio is applied.
Abstract:
Provided are a method for managing an ONU in a passive optical network, an OLT and a system. The method includes determining a first quiet window and a second quiet window, and allocating the first quiet window to an ONU within a first preset distance range and allocating the second quiet window to an ONU within a second preset distance range, where the distance between the optical line terminal (OLT) and the ONU within the first preset distance range is less than the distance between the OLT and the ONU within the second preset distance range.

A data transmission and reception method and device are provided. The data transmission method includes: determining wavelength channels for data to be transmitted according to received wavelength channel information of an optical network unit (ONU); dividing the data to be transmitted in a sequence according to the number of the wavelength channels to obtain data packets; identifying the data packets according to the division sequence to obtain sequence identifiers of the data packets; and encapsulating the data packets into downstream frames of the wavelength channels in a one-to-one correspondence according to the sequence identifiers of the data packets, and transmitting the downstream frames of the wavelength channels separately to the ONU.

A channel adjustment method, apparatus and system. The method includes: an optical line terminal (OLT) receives a channel bonding capability parameter reported by an optical network unit (ONU) and supported by the ONU; the OLT determines a channel bonding capability parameter of a to-be-bonded channel of the ONU according to the channel bonding capability parameter, a serving application of the ONU and/or a data transmission state; and the OLT sends, to the ONU, first bonding control information carrying the channel bonding capability parameter of the to-be-bonded channel of the ONU and used for instructing the ONU to adjust the bonded channel.

Provided are a method, device and system for isolating services, a Distributed Point Unit (DPU), a network adapter. The method includes that: a physical division manner, used for service isolation, of a twisted pair connected between a DPU on an access network side and a network adapter on a user side is determined, wherein the physical division manner includes at least one of: a time division manner, a frequency division manner and a line space division manner; and isolation processing is performed, according to the determined physical division manner, on a Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) and a reverse power supply service executed on the DPU by user-side equipment, which are transmitted on the twisted pair. By such a method, the problem that the POTS and the reverse power supply service executed on the DPU by the user-side equipment, which are transmitted on the twisted pair, may not coexist in the related art is solved, and the effect of improving a user experience is further achieved.

Provided is a network equipment and an authentication and key management method for the same. The network equipment generates a Network Key (NK); the network equipment performs authentication protocol interaction with opposite communication equipment, and calculates a Basic Session Key (BSK) according to parameters for the authentication protocol interaction and the NK; and the network equipment calculates link Encryption Keys (EKs) used respectively for Media Access Control (MAC) and Physical (PHY) layers using various access technologies according to the BSK, and provides the EKs for respective MAC and PHY layer function modules. With the disclosure, the legality of the equipment is verified by performing an authentication process on the heterogeneous network equipments in one pass, and keys in various MAC layer technologies are managed in a unified way.

The present disclosure discloses a networking method and apparatus for a home network with a universal wired medium networking technology. The method includes: receiving, by a G.hn network device, a key-press operation; broadcasting a notice of open registration of a current domain and receiving joining application information of applying for joining in the current domain from an extra-domain node in a first preset time window, by the G.hn network device; determining, by the G.hn network device, whether a signal intensity of the extra-domain node transmitting the joining application information is not less than a first preset threshold; and allowing, by the G.hn network device, the extra-domain node to join in the current domain if the signal intensity of the extra-domain node transmitting the joining application information is not less than the first preset threshold.

Embodiments of the present application provide a method and apparatus for opening a quiet window, and a registration method, apparatus and system. The method for opening a quiet window includes that: a first quiet window is opened when it is determined that the first quiet window needs to be opened, wherein the first quiet window is used for Optical Network Unit (ONU) discovery. According to the embodiments of the present application, a first quiet window is opened only when it is determined that the first quiet window needs to be opened, rather than periodically opening the first quiet window, such that the efficiency of the first quiet window is improved and the impact of the first quiet window on a data transmission delay is reduced, thereby reducing a transmission delay of a Passive Optical Network (PON) system.
