Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a diffuser for a radial compressor. The diffuser may comprise a diffusor duct portion formed by first and second side walls that are arranged so as to diverge at least partially from one another in a direction of flow, a blade ring having a number of blades arranged at least partially in the diffusor duct portion with each blade having a pressure side and a suction side delimited by a blade leading edge and by a blade trailing edge of the respective blade, a number of pressure equalizing openings incorporated into at least one of the first and second side walls of the diffuser duct portion in a region where the first and second side walls diverge from one another with each of the pressure equalizing openings being arranged between the pressure side of one blade and the suction side of an adjacent blade of the blade ring, and a first annular duct arranged behind the pressure equalizing openings and fluidically connected to the diffuser duct portion via at least two of the pressure equalizing openings, such that a number of regions between two adjacent blades of the blade ring in the diffuser duct portion are fluidically connectable together.
Abstract:
A sound attenuator on the intake side of a compressor of an exhaust-gas turbocharger includes a tubular sound attenuator housing, which encases a flow duct between a face-side inlet opening and a rear-side outlet opening. A holding plate is provided in the sound attenuator housing in the flow direction and is perforated in the flow direction. For example, the holding plate can have a multiplicity of holes extending in the flow direction. The sound attenuator on the intake side of the compressor of an exhaust-gas turbocharger has a compact, lightweight and inexpensive structural form. The intake air is subjected to low resistance as it flows through the attenuation elements.
Abstract:
A hydrodynamic axial bearing for mounting a shaft which is mounted rotatably in a bearing housing, including an axial stop of the bearing housing and a bearing comb which rotates with the shaft. A lubricating gap, which is loaded with lubricating oil and is delimited by a profiled circular ring face and a sliding face, being formed between the axial stop and the bearing comb. The profiled circular ring face and the sliding face are configured in such a way that the lubricating gap is constricted radially to the outside with regard to the axial direction. As a result, temperature deformations which occur during operation and deformations on account of centrifugal, shearing and other forces in the bearing comb can be compensated for.
Abstract:
The guide device for the diffusor at the compressor impeller outlet of a radial compressor has guide blades with stepped inlet edges. The step is implemented by setting back the hub-side inlet edge. This meridional stepping divides the guide blades into two component blades, of which the first component blade is made longer than the second component blade. The set-back of the inlet edge of the hub-side component blade and the associated superposition of the noise fields which are produced on the front and rear inlet edge of the diffusor leads to improvement of the acoustic properties of the compressor.

Abstract:
A hydrodynamic axial bearing with a floating disk is disclosed wherein two lubricating gaps on the two sides of the floating disk are formed by supporting surfaces of different size. This makes it possible to provide identical lubricating gaps on both sides, despite different rotation speeds between the floating disk and the bearing housing, and between the floating disk and the bearing comb.
Abstract:
The device serves for sealing a bearing housing of an exhaust-gas turbocharger, from which a rotor is led into a chamber of the turbocharger subjected to a mass flow. The device includes a sealing ring arranged in a groove of the rotor, a seat, arranged on the bearing housing and on which a pre-stressed sealing ring is secured by an outward-facing circumferential surface, and a radially extending separation gap, which leads annularly around the axis of rotation of the rotor and is defined by two superimposed sliding surfaces, the first of which is arranged on a first face of the sealing ring and the second of which is arranged on a first flank of the groove. In order to reduce a heat input into the sealing ring caused by lapping of the sealing ring during operation of the exhaust-gas turbocharger, a depression annularly around the axis is formed into the second flank of the groove. The depression is defined radially outwards by an annular body formed into the rotor. The annular body forms a portion of an external face of the rotor. The annular body includes a radially oriented annular edge, which adjoins the external face and which serves to reduce the size of a lapping face, which is produced as the sealing ring strikes against the second groove flank.
Abstract:
A discharge region of a centrifugal compressor is provided. A scroll casing is asymmetrically formed in a circumferential direction and configured to be positioned in different angular positions in the circumferential direction. A vaned diffuser is configured to be positioned in different angular positions in the circumferential direction. The vaned diffuser includes a plurality of guide elements configured to be arranged in a distributed manner in the circumferential direction. Means are provided for positioning the vaned diffuser with regard to an angular position of the asymmetrically formed scroll casing. An angular spacing of two guide elements which are arranged adjacently to each other differs from an angular spacing of two other guide elements which are arranged adjacently to each other. By varying the angular spacings between two adjacent guide vanes of a diffuser along the circumference, the resonance vibration of the compressor can be reduced.
Abstract:
Depending on the actual operating situation and the composition of the fuels used for driving the internal combustion engine, contamination of the moving blades, of the guide device and of the turbine casing parts occurs sooner or later in the exhaust gas turbine. According to the invention, a small quantity of cleaning fluid is fed continuously or cyclically into the exhaust gas flow of an exhaust gas turbine and is directed onto the components to be cleaned. The small quantity of cleaning fluid can be fed in with unchanged operation of the internal combustion engine, such that the exhaust gas turbine can be cleaned or kept clean within the entire operating range of the internal combustion engine. Fluctuations in the power output of the internal combustion engine on account of requisite cleaning of the exhaust gas turbine therefore do not occur. Furthermore, the formation of thermostress cracks in the critical turbine casing parts is largely avoided.
Abstract:
The hub/blade junction of each rotor blade is placed with respect to the scalloping surface (F1+F2) such that this surface is supported as symmetrically as possible by the rotor blade. The turbine wheel with three-dimensionally curved rotor blades has scalloping in the area of the hub rear wall, and in consequence is subject to reduced stresses caused by scalloping deformation.
