Abstract: An apparatus, a system, and a method are disclosed for enhancing a sound of an engine having a turbocharger. The apparatus is used with a vehicle having a turbocharger that includes a recirculation hose that is disconnected from the system. A short section of hose is assembled to a blow-off valve and a sound modification apparatus that includes a horn end and an attachment portion. The attachment portion is connected to an outlet end of the short section of hose. The horn end has a conical end through which a first tone is emitted when vented gases pass inside the horn and a plurality of arcuate opening through which a second tone is emitted.

Abstract: An air blower has an inlet muffler and an outlet muffler to reduce the noise of the air blower during operation. Each of the mufflers may have two sections. One section is configured to attenuate high frequency noise and the other section is configured to attenuate lower frequency noise. A tubular internal wall in each of the mufflers defines the through passage for each of the mufflers. A noise absorbent material may be fitted about the tubular wall within each muffler. A plurality of holes are formed along the tubular wall of each through passage to expose the through passage to the noise absorbent material. A heater plenum may be interposed between the blower plenum and the outlet muffler to heat the air from the blower plenum. A filter at the input muffler filters the air sucked into the air blower.

Abstract: A vehicle air filter housing having a broad band tuner. The housing is formed from a tray having a divider wall defining an unfiltered air induction chamber and a tuner chamber. A cover securable to the tray includes a second divider wall defining a filtered air chamber and a flow path chamber. A filter member provides a seal between the tray and the cover, and holds an air filter between the unfiltered air chamber and the filtered air chamber. A plate securable to the flow path chamber has a plurality of perforations. Air inducted through the inlet passes through the air filter and flows through the flow path chamber at a velocity whereby the filtered air passes over the perforated plate and predetermined frequencies pass through the plate perforations for attenuation in the tuner chamber. The tuners in the tuner chamber may be sized to attenuate different frequencies.

The engine air filter unit (10) comprises a main filter (14), a mounting base (15) to secure the engine air filter unit (10) on at least one body panel (7, 71, 72) of the vehicle, a pre-separator fluidically connected to the main filter. The main filter (14) is arranged on a side of the mounting base (15) and the pre-separator (18) is arranged on the opposite side of the mounting base (15). The pre-separator housing is at least partly formed by the mounting base (15) and an air duct (19) extends through the mounting base (15) to fluidically connect the pre-separator to the filtration chamber.

Abstract: A filter system for filtering a fluid has a filter housing with housing top part and housing bottom part, wherein the housing top and bottom parts extend along a housing axis. A filter pack arranged in the filter housing separates fluid-tightly a clean fluid side and a raw fluid side from each other. The filter pack has a filter element with a hollow cylinder-type filter bellows arranged about a longitudinal axis of the filter element. The filter element has a first substantially closed end face and a first end disk arranged thereat, wherein the first end disk is positioned opposite a second end disk of the filter element. The second end disk has a fluid passage for filtered fluid. A resonator with an end closed by a bottom is arranged inside the filter pack such that the bottom is oriented toward the first end disk of the filter element.

Abstract: An intake system of an engine is provided, which includes a first passage provided to an engine bay, for leading fresh air to the engine, a second passage branched from the first passage and extending toward a cabin, and an intake noise increasing device provided to the second passage. Abstract: An apparatus for reducing flow noise of an air intake system of a vehicle is provided as an assembly of a body member and a cover member. An acoustic metamaterial unit includes a chamber having a predetermined size, an inlet flow path, and an outlet flow path provided therein and is connected to a pipe of an air intake system. The apparatus advantageously reduces or removes high-frequency flow noise occurring in a turbocharger by using the acoustic metamaterial unit. The size and shape of the acoustic metamaterial unit is standardized such that the acoustic metamaterial unit is used compatibly regardless of the type of vehicles, which can make it possible to advantageously reduce costs and improve salability.
