    摘要: The present invention provides a bicycle speed change assembly comprising: a pantogtaph link mechanism including a link base supported on a chain stay ahead of a sprocket cluster mounted on a hub shaft, inner and outer link members each extending rearward, and having a base end pivoted by a connecting pin to the link base, and a movable member pivoted by connecting pins to respective free ends of the inner and outer link members; and a chain guide rotatably supporting a guide pulley and a tension pulley, the chain guide being supported on the movable member of the pantograph mechanism to pivot about an axis in parallel with the hub shaft while being elastically urged to tension a chain. For a purpose of securing a pivotal range for the guide pulley without increasing projection of the speed change assembly out of the bicycle width while minimizing the risk for damage to the speed change assembly in case of bicycle rollover, each of the connecting pins is slanted off the vertical for moving the guide pulley inward axially of the hub shaft and forwardly downwardly of the sprocket cluster when the pantograph mechanism is deformed, and each of the inner and outer link members has a top surface, a plane containing at least a portion of the top surface of the inner link member adjacent to the movable member is displaced downward axially of the connecting pins from another plane containing a portion of the top surface of the outer link member adjacent to the movable member.

    摘要: A caliper type brake for a bicycle, which includes brake members pivotally supported by a frame of the bicycle for supporting brake shoes adapted to be pressed to a rim of a wheel of the bicycle. Each of the brake members is shaped like a bell crank and has one end pivotally connected to the frame of the bicycle and the other end supporting the brake shoe. An operating radius between a pivotal point of each of the brake members and a point of the brake member on which a brake operating force acts is made as small as possible. The brake further inlcudes a generally V-shaped connecting rod whose ends are connected to the brake members, respectively for applying the brake operating force to the brake member, a pulley rotatably provided at an intermediate portion of the connecting rod, and an operating wire extending about the pulley and having one end fixed to the frame of the bicycle.

    摘要: An adjustable handlebar for a bicycle according to the invention comprises two handlebar members whose adjacent ends are pivotally supported by two bolts whose extended axes are crossing in front of the bicycle, gear teeth formed in the adjacent ends of the handlebar members so as to pivotally move one handlebar member by pivotally moving the other handlebar member, two sets of isosceles triangle-shaped thrust serrations at adjacent ends of the handlebar members and an upper portion of a handlebar stem, thereby anchoring the handlebar members when the bolts are tightened and moving the adjacent ends of the handlebar members away from the upper portion of the handlebar stem when the bolts are loosened and the handlebar members are rotated, and a cam and cam follower assembly having a lever for engaging and disengaging the serrations, thereby simply changing positions of handlebar members symmetrically. The upper portion of the handlebar stem is formed by a rear part and a front part pivotally movable relative to the rear part in a substantially vertical direction about a substantially horizontal axis in transverse direction of the bicycle and clamped to the rear part by the clamping means, thereby enabling inclined angles of grips of the handlebar to be changed.

A main pipe is interconnected between the pair of back forks and the pair of lower stays, and a quadric link is connected to the triangular base frame. The guadric link includes the main pipe, a seat pipe, a front pipe, and an upper stay, along with a first pivot pivotally connecting the main pipe and the seat pipe to provide pivotal movement of the seat pipe relative to the main pipe, a second pivot pivotally connecting the main pipe and the front pipe to provide pivotal movement of the front pipe relative to the main pipe, a third pivot pivotally connecting the front pipe and the upper stay to provide pivotal movement between the front pipe and the upper stay, and a fourth pivot pivotally connecting the seat pipe and the upper stay to provide pivotal movement between the seat pipe and the upper stay. The quadric link further includes a foldable link extending between the first and the third pivots, the foldable link having a first position which maintains the quadric link in an uncollapsed condition and a second position in which the quadric link is in a collapsed condition. The foldable link further includes an operable device for maintaining the quadric link in the uncollapsed condition, the operable device being manually operable to permit the quadric link to be collapsed and folded to the collapsed condition.

To respective free end portions of these links, there is connected a movable member (11), which pivotally supports a chain guide (15) which is elastically urged. The guide pulley travel control means (18) functions in such a way that when the pantograph link mechanism (12) is deformed, it would cause a guide pulley (13) of the chain guide (15) to move inward axially of the hub shaft and at the same time forwardly downward substantially along a radial path of the sprocket cluster (2).
