    摘要: A particularly satisfactory derailer type bicycle can be constructed using front and rear derailer mechanisms in connection with the pedals and the rear wheel of the bicycle, respectively, and a control cable which operates these two mechanisms in synchronism with one another. This control cable is used so as to rotate a cam of the front derailer mechanism in order to cause shifting of the bicycle chain between the gears in this mechanism. Similarly the cable is used to concurrently rotate a cam of the rear mechanism so as to cause shifting of the bicycle chain between the gears of this mechanism. The cam as the rear derailer mechanism formed to facilitate the shifting action achieved by causing the chain of the bicycle to be moved slightly past and then back into a position corresponding to a gear of the rear mechanism.

    摘要: The derailleur is mounted inboard as respects the bicycle frame. It is aligned with the rear drive sprockets. The take-up cage carrying sprocket wheels over which the slack part of the chain passes is carried on an actuating rod or stem, which engages a positioning means which provides for positive transfer of the chain from one drive sprocket to another, and for positive alignment of the take-up means and drive chain with individual drive sprockets. The positioning means is in the form of overlying plates, having overlying slots configurated to positively guide the stem carrying the take-up cage to assure the positive transfer of the drive chain, and positive alignment with individual drive sprockets.

    摘要: The present invention provides a bicycle speed change assembly comprising: a pantogtaph link mechanism including a link base supported on a chain stay ahead of a sprocket cluster mounted on a hub shaft, inner and outer link members each extending rearward, and having a base end pivoted by a connecting pin to the link base, and a movable member pivoted by connecting pins to respective free ends of the inner and outer link members; and a chain guide rotatably supporting a guide pulley and a tension pulley, the chain guide being supported on the movable member of the pantograph mechanism to pivot about an axis in parallel with the hub shaft while being elastically urged to tension a chain. For a purpose of securing a pivotal range for the guide pulley without increasing projection of the speed change assembly out of the bicycle width while minimizing the risk for damage to the speed change assembly in case of bicycle rollover, each of the connecting pins is slanted off the vertical for moving the guide pulley inward axially of the hub shaft and forwardly downwardly of the sprocket cluster when the pantograph mechanism is deformed, and each of the inner and outer link members has a top surface, a plane containing at least a portion of the top surface of the inner link member adjacent to the movable member is displaced downward axially of the connecting pins from another plane containing a portion of the top surface of the outer link member adjacent to the movable member.

    摘要: A derailleur for a bicycle is provided with a base member, a movable member movable axially of a multistage sprocket assembly, a linkage member for moving the movable member axially of the multistage sprocket assembly, a guide mechanism supported to the movable member and guiding a driving chain from one sprocket to another at the multistage sprocket assembly, and a coiled return spring. At an intermediate portion of the linkage member there is a provided a support shaft for the spring, with the support shaft supporting the coiled portion of the spring. A first end portion of the spring is retained to the linkage member carrying the support shaft, and a second end portion of the spring is movably engaged with a member movable relative to the linkage member, thereby reducing the amount of deflection of the spring for a given amount of movement of the movable member.

    摘要: An improved rear derailleur for changing the gear ratio of a bicycle is disclosed. It includes a fixed member, a movable member, a parallelogram mechanism connecting the fixed member with the movable member, and a cable adjusting screw which is screwed to a screw socket fixed on the fixed member. The cable adjusting screw is connected to a first end of a cable, wherein the cable has a second end fixed to a movable member. The cam member comprises a guiding surface for guiding the cable between the cable adjusting screw and the movable member. The guiding surface of the cam member is structured substantially coinciding a portion of a fictitious circle centered at a rotating pin which connects an outer linkage of the parallelogram with a second end of the fixed member. Furthermore, the cable adjusting screw is positioned in such a manner that its extension is always substantially tangential to the guiding surface of the cam member, so as to allow the cable to be pulled in a direction substantially coincident with the axial extension of the cable adjusting screw.

    摘要: A ten-speed bicycle gear shift includes front and rear derailleurs actuated by a single continuous cable. Movement of the cable through a discrete given distance in one direction increases the gear ratio and movement of the cable through the same discrete given distance in an opposite direction decreases the gear ratio. A rotatable dial is mounted on the handlebar of the bicycle for easy manual turning and includes a cable drum such that turning the dial in one direction through a given circumferential distance moves the cable through the referred to given distance in one direction and turning of the dial in an opposite direction through the same given circumferential distance moves the cable through the given distance in an opposite direction. Gear numbers and a viewing window are included in the dial structure so that the particular gear position can be visually observed. The gear shift is further characterized by cam arrangements for positively positioning the derailleurs in accordance with movement of the cable to selected positions.

    摘要: A ten speed bicycle gear shift includes front and rear derailleurs actuated by a single continuous cable. Movement of the cable through a discrete given distance in one direction increases the gear ratio and movement of the cable through the same discrete given distance in an opposite direction decreases the gear ratio. First and second levers are mounted on the handlebar for easy manual stroking, operation of the first lever moving the cable through the discrete given distances in one direction and operation of the second lever moving the cable through the discrete given distances in an opposite direction. A marker on a portion of the cable can be visually observed relative to a fixed scale on the bicycle frame to indicate at all times the particular gear position. The gear shift is further characterized by cam arrangements for positively positioning the derailleurs in accordance with movement of the cable to selected positions.
