Abstract:
The dunnage can be used for protecting edges of articles such as wood furniture during shipping and has a honeycomb panel having a first and second opposed faces, and a first and second adjacent panel sections folded relative to each other along a V-groove extending into the first face, a layer of antiskid cohesive material applied on the V-groove and maintaining said first and second adjacent panels in said folded configuration, and also applied on a substantial portion of one of said first and second adjacent panel sections, on the first face. The cohesive on the exposed face of the folded dunnage acts as an antiskid which reduces the likelihood of the dunnage sliding once applied to the edge of the article, and also reduces the abrasiveness of the honeycomb panel. A process of production is also disclosed where the V-groove can be made on line.
Abstract:
A process for manufacturing an embossed paperboard comprising the steps of: forming a wet mat including more than 60 wt % of cellulose fibers; pressure molding, with at least one embossing roll, the wet mat having 20 to 70 wt % solid to create a nested surface texture thereon; and drying the embossed wet mat to obtain the embossed paperboard with a grammage ranging between 125 and 1500 grams per square meter.
Abstract:
The stack-top dunnage can have a sheet having two opposite end sections and a center section therebetween; each end section being successively folded thus forming a thicker ledge portion. The stack-top protector can be placed on top of a stack and the ledges thence receive tie bands that tie the stack to a pallet for shipping.
Abstract:
The anti-leak meat pack can include a food packaging tray, meat on the tray, a film covering the meat, wrapped around the tray, and sealed against an outward-facing surface all around the tray, an anti-leak seal thereby being formed surrounding the meat.
Abstract:
A corrugated fiberboard container and a method and apparatus for constructing a corrugated fiberboard section. A corrugated fiberboard is disclosed that includes: a first layer formed from a first continuous section of material; a second layer formed from a plurality of non-continuous sections of material, wherein at least two of the non-continuous sections comprise different materials.
Abstract:
A cardboard three-dimensional tree comprises: two primary substantially triangular sheets and four secondary substantially triangular sheets, each having an apex, a base edge opposed to the apex, and two side edges connecting the apex and the base edge. A first primary sheet has a primary slot extending downwardly from the apex and a second primary sheet has a primary slot extending upwardly from the base edge and engageable in the downwardly extending primary slot defined in the first primary sheet. Each primary sheet has two secondary slots extending upwardly from the base edge. Each secondary sheet has a primary slot extending downwardly from the apex and engageable in one of the secondary slots defined in the primary sheets. The primary and the secondary sheets are engageable in an interlocking intersecting relation at the slots and cooperating to form a self-standing generally substantially triangular three-dimensional structure generally in the form of an evergreen tree.
