    摘要: A flap valve, particularly used for a conductor of large cross section, includes a valve housing and a flap member mounted in the housing for pivoting movement about a first axis through an angle of approximately 90.degree. between two extreme positions. A drive shaft is mounted in the housing for rotation about a second axis, and a tension lever is fixed to the drive shaft and rotatable therewith about the second axis. A joint rod is pivoted at a first end thereof to the tension lever and at a second end thereof to the flap member at a position substantially centrally thereof. Rotation of the drive shaft and the tension lever about the second axis moves the joint rod and thereby pivots the flap member about the first axis from one extreme position to the other. The second axis is positioned relative to the first axis to ensure that an angle of rotation of the tension lever to move the flap member between the two extreme positions thereof is approximately 90.degree. to 150.degree..

    摘要: A shut-off valve for interrupting a flow of a fluid through a pipeline, particularly a flow of high temperature air in a gas main associated with a blast furnace, includes a valve body adapted to be connected to the pipes of the pipeline. The valve body has a pair of spaced walls having openings aligned with each other and with the pipes when the valve body is connected to the pipes. The valve body has therein a chamber. A valve plate is movably mounted within the valve body for movement between a closed position, whereat the valve plate extends between and interrupts communication between the openings, and an opened position, whereat the valve plate is positioned within the chamber and opens communication between said openings. A gaseous cooling fluid is introduced into the chamber. The valve plate has therein channels through which the gaseous cooling fluid passes when the valve plate is in the closed position, to thereby cool the valve plate. The arrangement is such that the gaseous cooling fluid, after being heated during cooling of the internal portions of the valve, is allowed to be returned to the gas within the gas main, thereby avoiding heat losses.

    摘要: A gate valve includes a water cooled valve casing coaxially attachable to a conduit and a valve plate mounted in the valve casing for sliding movement relative thereto between open and closed positions of the conduit. The valve casing includes a pair of annular mounting flanges adapted to be connected to the conduit and a pair of annular U-shaped sealing rings. Each sealing ring is positioned radially inwardly of a respective mounting flange, and the sealing rings are positioned on opposite axial sides of the valve plate. Each sealing ring includes a web portion, an inner leg portion extending generally radially outwardly from the web portion and forming a sealing surface for the valve plate, and an outer leg extending generally radially outwardly from the web portion. Each outer leg is connected to a respective mounting flange. The valve casing defines therein an enclosed interior space through which cooling water is adapted to flow. A support device is positioned within the interior space for transmitting to at least one mounting flange the stress applied to the respective sealing surface by the valve plate. The support device includes a first end portion supported against and fixed to the one mounting flange and a second portion freely contacting the respective inner leg without attachment thereto. The support device has a cross-section so as to not appreciably interfere with or restrict the flow of cooling water within the interior space of the valve casing.

    摘要: A plurality of regenerative hot blast stoves are operated under a staggered-parallel process wherein each stove is alternately operated under a fixed heating cycle wherein no cold blast is supplied to the stove and no hot blast issues therefrom and a fixed blasting cycle wherein cold blast is supplied to the stove and issues therefrom as hot blast. The initiation of the cycles of the stoves is staggered in time with respect to each other such that at any given time hot blast issues from more than one of the stoves but at different temperatures. The temperature of the hot blast issuing from the stoves is regulated to a predetermined temperature required at the blast furnace in a two-stage operation including a first stage wherein relatively cooler and warmer hot blast issuing from those stoves operating under blasting is mixed and controlled as a function of a first reference temperature greater than the temperature required at the blast furnace, and a second stage wherein cold blast is admixed with the hot blast mixture and controlled as a function of a second reference temperature equal to the temperature required at the blast furnace. Upon a lowering of the second reference temperature due to an operating requirement of the blast furnace, the first reference temperature is raised, whereby the second stage temperature regulation overlaps the first stage temperature regulation.

    摘要: A ceramic burner includes a fuel gas supply conduit having a gas delivery region opening into a mouth portion and a mixing and aspiration region communicating with the gas delivery region, and an air supply conduit having nozzles opening into the mixing and aspiration region of the fuel gas supply conduit. The mixing and aspiration region has an angular configuration including a first segment inclined with respect to the axis of a combustion chamber of an air heater within which the burner is positioned and a second segment inclined with respect to the first segment and in communication therewith at a position of directional change. The gas delivery region extends coaxially with respect to the combustion chamber. The nozzles of the air supply conduit include first and second sets of nozzles, the first set of nozzles being directed toward an opposite wall of the first segment of the mixing and aspiration region adjacent the position of directional change, and the second set of nozzles being directed toward the mouth portion. The gas delivery region has extending thereinto, at positions adjacent the mouth portion, a plurality of projections.
