摘要:
A fluid recycling unit for use on board an aircraft or other passenger transportation vehicle. The fluid recycling unit captures various types of used fluids, filters or otherwise appropriately treats the fluids, and recycles the fluids for various uses onboard the vehicle.

Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for disposal of liquid and food into a sink basin. The disclosed system cooperates with and delivers the received waste material to the main waste system on-board the vehicle. This is typically an aircraft waste tank. The system does not require a manual flush, but includes a sensor system that activates drainage of the holding line when the liquid and/or other waste material reaches a certain level therein. The disclosed system combines the functionalities of a common galley sink and a galley waste disposal unit, but occupies only the space envelope of an existing galley sink. The use of an existing galley sink means that no additional space on the countertop is required.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a grey water flush system for use with vacuum toilets. One embodiment of the system provides a two-stage flush that uses a transient tank in between the toilet bowl and the main aircraft waste tank, which reduces the noise level associated with the flush process because a lesser vacuum is demanded for the first stage of the flush. Embodiments of the system further capture grey water from a sink basin in a reservoir and use that water in the toilet flush process. There is further provided a lavatory odor removal system option that is activated during the second stage of the flush.
摘要:
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate generally to a reservoir (40) that is easily removed from a grey water flush system. The reservoir is made modular so that rather than removing an entire reservoir/pump/circuitry system, the reservoir (40) can be separately removed from the system. The reservoir can also be made disposable, which can save cleaning and refurbishment costs. This can also increase turn-around time for maintenance of the system.

Embodiments relate generally to systems and methods for treating passenger transportation vehicle cabin surfaces and surrounding air. The methods may use organic LEDs to produce ultraviolet light. Systems may be provided to ensure safety and operation of the air treatment only when passengers and personnel are not present in the cabin.

Embodiments of the present invention provide composite waste and water transport elements that can be designed having various unique shapes and methods for their manufacture.

Embodiments provide systems and methods for improving in-line water heaters. Certain embodiments find particular use on board aircraft, other air travel vehicles (such as helicopters or aerospace vehicles), or any other vehicles that experience varying temperatures. The in-line water heaters described are self-regulating and use a temperature dependent resistance element to detect water temperature instead of a temperature sensor.

In a craft such as an aircraft, a lavatory unit may be powered by the various outputs of a fuel cell system, including by-products that typically become waste. For example, but not limited to, a combination of the water, oxygen-depleted air, thermal energy and/or electrical energy generated by the fuel cell system may be used to supply water to the faucet and the toilet of the lavatory unit, to supply the lavatory unit with its electrical needs, and to heat and/or disinfect and/or dry the lavatory unit and its surfaces.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a water treatment device that can treat water at its point of use. For example, the water treatment device may be positioned at or near a faucet outlet, so that water can be treated immediately before it leaves the faucet. The water treatment device may be a water treatment reactor with a plurality of UV LEDs positioned between a shield and a heat sink component.
