摘要： The invention is a wiping bar of a rail lubrication apparatus of the type used with a rail having a base with outwardly extending flanges, a head, and a web connecting the base and the head, where the lubrication apparatus is comprised of a wiping bar and a first set of clamps for maintaining the wiping bar in position with respect to the rail. The lubrication apparatus also comprises a pump actuator and a second set of clamps for maintaining the pump actuator in position with the rail. The rail lubrication apparatus may be used with a pump, responsive to the pump actuator, for pumping a lubricant from a reservoir to the wiping bar to form a complete rail lubrication system. Specifically, the wiping bar of the present invention includes an improved distribution blade over those known in the art. Further, the wiping bar of the present invention includes the improvement of coating the surface of the wiping bar contacting the lubricant with an anti-stick material.

摘要： A railway hopper car includes an angular roof having a roof sheet provided with lateral edges each connected to the top of the car side sheet by an elongated top chord. Each top chord includes a substantially rectangularly-sectioned tube member affixed to the exterior of the top portion of the side sheet and includes a top wall inclined inwardly and upwardly and projecting interiorly of the car beyond the top edge of the side sheet. The undersurface of the lateral portion of the roof sheet overlies and is attached to a substantial portion of the upper surface of the top chord top wall. An inside wall on each top chord comprises a vertical member terminating in a top edge abutting the inclined top wall to provide a smooth vertical plane readily admitting installation of the side sheets and subsequent car interior lining.

Each ram and its associated spike holder and spike feeding arm is suspended from an adjustable head supported in a mounting frame. A plurality of threaded adjustment members for individually moving each head to set the rams and associated spike holders in a pattern corresponding to the location of the holes in a tie plate and hydraulic cylinders and rods to adjust the rams and associated spike holders in unison to spot the spikes at the holes in each individual tie plate.

摘要： A railway car having an end opening includes a swingable folding door assembly provided with a keeper mechanism carried by the door assembly and the adjacent side wall of the railway car. As the panels of the door assembly are folded from a flat, closed position overlying the car end opening to a collapsed, open position disposed substantially longitudinally extended away from the end of the car side wall, a guide rod carried by the door assembly is arcuately displaced to simultaneously horizontally shift a vertical locking pin to a position overlying an aperture in a lock plate whereupon gravity concurrently drops the connected rod and pin to secure the open door assembly in a fixed position.

摘要： An enclosure for a vehicle end opening formed between two side walls includes two bi-fold door assemblies each comprising inner and outer panels pivotally connected to one another and with the free edge of the outer panels in turn connected to a fixed pivot point adjacent the side of the end opening wherein, each inner panel may be folded outwardly 180.degree. about its pivoted connecting means and the thus folded assembly subsequently pivoted about its fixed pivot point 270.degree. into parallel relationship with the vehicle side wall. The pivotal connecting means joining each pair of inner and outer panels includes catch means serving to secure the assembly in both the closed position enclosing the vehicle end opening as well as in the stored position parallel with the vehicle side wall.

摘要： A device for injecting a gas into bulk material stored within a vessel to enhance the flow characteristics of the material. The device includes a housing to be mounted within an opening in the wall of the vessel and having a connection to a source of gas under pressure. The housing supports a porous metal filter element which permits the flow of gas into the material confined within the vessel but prevents the escape of the material into the pressurized gas system. The housing is designed so that it can be attached to the vessel wall entirely from the exterior of the vessel.
